TRDGriffon's 2016 Halo FR-S Build

I purchased this car on October 12 2015. I am not new to the FR-S world as my wife previously had leased a 2015, which due to some unfortunate circumstances we had to get rid of. I am also not new to the Subaru world having owned 3 STIs and a WRX prior to this car. I am a certified Acura technician, and a very meticulous person. So hopefully that will show in the quality of my build. Seeing as I have owned this car for over 4 months now and I still have not broken it in (Am not driving it through the harsh California winter :lol:), this will most likely be a slow build for now. But it will definitely pick up in the summer. This is really just a place for me to document the build for myself as I am hoping to keep this car for a while. I will probably throw in a few pictures of my previous builds here and there for any one interested.

Very nice! Any chance you have pictures of your charging/ground harness?! Also, did you have to do any fender work to fit the wheels/tires? Cheers!

No photos of the charge harness at the moment but I should have some updates coming here pretty soon so I'll try to post some then. My main goal with this wheel/tire setup was to be as aggressive as possible without messing with the body. Aside from a little bit of shaving down the rear bumper tab the fenders are untouched. No rubbing at all even under hard cornering. I'm running 1.6 degrees of camber up front and 2.8 in the rear.

Awesome, I'll keep an eye out for that! Car looks great so far, cheers!

@TRDGriffon

Are you going to base your build off the TRD Griffon? I think it would be freaking stunning if you did with the vinyl as well! :thumbsup:

That's the plan, it may take me a while to get to the point of actually doing the vinyl. I'd like to have a pretty well rounded build before I go that far. I just wish I could get the aero parts, I've been tossing around the idea of trying to make some custom bumpers. But I wouldn't be able to do it myself. TE37SLs are already on the wish list as well as an aggressive rear wing mounted w/ the TRD rear spoiler. We'll see how it goes. On a side note I totally missed your earlier post, I'm not usually in the Dublin area but maybe I'll make a trip out some time.

And just for good measure, my inspiration :wub:

Why not try getting the TRD jp front lip and modifying it to look like the TRD Griffon? I believe that'd be the best way of getting close to it, Front lip wise.

Haven't been on here a while but I figured I'd throw some recent pictures up. Car has since had and identity crisis (or found its true self), along with a few exterior additions, now running oft stage 2 and e85. Just rolled over 6k miles :rolleyes:

Thanks, yes it is. I feel better about having a "Tuned by Sti" badge as opposed to the straight up Sti badge. Gotta feed my inner ricer somehow. :sigh:
