Valenti Tail Lights Condensation Issues
So after my friend totalled his '15 FRS, he passed down his first generation Valenti tail lights to me. I put them on my '16 BRZ.
After a couple weeks of having them on, LA felt the first signs of El Nino with some heavy rain for once. Problem with that-- water got into the left tail light. I don't mean a little, I mean a puddle filled up about an inch of the tail light. After avoiding it for a couple more weeks, last night I took out the tail light, found that the water had leaked in due to my amateur job of replacing the trunk lining. The rain water dripped in from behind the light, through the light's ventilation holes. I removed the layer that goes between the light and the car's chassis and dumped out the water as much as I could. I got nearly all of it out except for drops that I couldn't get on the inside of the light. Put it back on, and almost immediately condensed. It's raining today, but water didn't get in. However, it's still very condensed inside. What can I do to fix it? |
I've had no issues whatsoever but I used the 3m weatherstripping adhesive with the gasket to seal it and properly torqued them down.
