Choosing a Great Towel for Drying Your Car
 

In this video, I discuss drying a car with the Pluffle waffle weave towel from The Rag Company. If you don't know anything about The Rag Company, be sure and check out this thread.

The towel that I use in this video is not only affordable, it is very practical for watery situations. With the foundation of the towel being a waffle weave style towel, it is already absorbent. Incorporate some of the plush offered by the Eagle Blue Edgeless towel and you have combined a level of safety to coexist with all that absorbancy. Together, they are known as the "The Platinum Pluffle", a 16"x16" plush waffle weave towel that is excellent for drying your entire car.

There was always two things that bothered me about the giant drying towels that folks normally use and the first was how cumbersome they were to wring out. The second was keeping them folded once they were saturated with water. This problem is a non-issue with the Platinum Pluffle as you will see in the following video.

not a bad idea at all, i used the same device before i got compressed air working :)

The main problem with compressed air is that it is compressed! If you get it too close to an emblem, you could lift it right off the car. The other issue with compressed air is that you have to constantly make sure that the bottom of the air tank does NOT collect water and debris, and that your air lines are filtered properly or that stuff will get sandblasted right at your paint. I use to service all of the Pneumatic equipment at my depot when I worked for Motorola and am very familiar with the issues of using compressed air to dry things.

That's why you should use a leaf blower or better yet, the Air Force Master Blaster.

Seems it would take a while to dry with compressed air. Ive been using leaf blower forever

Me too. I have a backpack style one. Works awesome! Regular clean towel for me also.
