You don't want water dripping on a hot turbo manifold; thermal shock can crack things.

2 hoods is likely best for you; you won't be going as fast in the rain anyways. The nice part with OEM hoods is that you don't need to test fit a hood swap; it fits perfect every time.

Thermal shock is my largest concerned with these as well. Would paring them with the JRSC pose the same issues as a turbo'd car or is the lower temps of the SC acceptable in the rain?

EDIT: After reading through the thread some more it is sounding like a non-issue since people are tracking in heavy rain with the JRSC without problems.

no *extra* hot exhaust piping involved with a JRSC, unlike a front/top mounted turbo :)

Have rain guards been developed yet?

Also curious re: the status on these.

Extensive testing in rain has indicated that there is no need for covers.

The CSG BRZ has been intentionally parked outside in the rain with various vented hoods (including the Varis), with zero ill effects, along with many other cars with vented hoods.

There are no immediate plans for covers to be developed at this point.

How's cleanliness without the covers? ;)

It's a track car, not a show car ;)
