Berk Muffler Delete - Single versus Dual

Looking to get a Berk axel-back muffler delete. Debating on going single or dual.

Single is a lot easier to put on and off, but dual looks nicer.

From personal experience, does anyone know if one is louder than the other? Are there any performance differences?

looks much better with duals,

asymmetrical tail pipes look funny

Looks better with single.

Performance? Probably no difference other than the single exit will weigh less.

I currently have a dual exit on my BRZ and it is definitely louder than the single exit on my friends. Visually the dual looks better but the single probably has a better performance (slightly) due to its weight.

Gotcha man thanks. Do you know about how the "J2 Engineering Stainless Steel 4" Rolled Tip Catback Exhaust Muffler" compares to the Berk? Being that it's 4in as opposed to 2.5in. Probably just slightly louder? Unless it's only the tip.

The price difference is drastic so I'm curious why.

I'm not an expert, but I doubt a larger diameter pipe on an axle back changes anything but sound. And if you think of it you're adding extra weight for a bigger pipe.

Single manifold car one pipe for me

The 4in for the J2 is only the tip

That's what I was thinking. So any idea why this is $79.99 and the Berk is $199.99?

Berk probably made in the USA and with better materials.
J2 probably made overseas and with lesser materials.

Fitment? Good luck.

I can tell you that the berk muffler delete that I have is dual tip and sounds amazing with a completely stock rest of the exhaust system and saves you 11 lbs or so as the stock axle back/muffle is a brick

I've had the following, all with stock header or with the OFH:

Berk single
Berk dual
Works ABM
Nameless w/ 5" muffler

Berk dual is by far the loudest, even more than the single. It's also borderline raspy with the header.

Berk single is loud but not raspy, even with the header.

Works sounds very similar to an STI with an SPT catback, except a little less "low" of a sound.

Nameless is VERY quiet on a stock car (quiter than even the TRD catback) and barely has any rumble. The nameless does actually sound very nice from the outside but it didn't have much of a tone from the inside.

I run the works AB-R on my daily driver FR-S, and the Berk dual on my more obnoxious "fun" supercharged one. Both sound very nice but be warned, the berk dual+ header is LOUD.

do you have any drone with the ab-r? i took my dual berk off cause i couldn't stand the drone at 1800-2k rpms. but tempted to weld a resonator or even small muffler on the dual berk

Weld the resonator in, it'll ditch most of the drone. Or sell the Berk for 250 and buy an AB-M, that's what I'm planning on doing, I had the muffler delete for some time but it was going to get obnoxious with catless uels
