How did you decide exhaust header setup
Just how did you decide. So many parts for this car its overwhelming and I don't want to make the mistake of putting on parts that kill the power, I don't want it to sound like a ricer car.
Figure I can just search Youtube and find something that pleases me. Someone did send me a video of their car with 200hp na and it sounded amazing. Maybe I'll go off that |
I did quite a bit of research on tuning options first and what fuel I was going to run.
For me OFT with OFH seemed the right choice as I was going to be running e85 with an off the shelf tune. Running OFH with my quad TRD muffler sounds great, it was a great sound not too load with a little boxer rumble. The other options I was looking at was hks and ace. :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

You're right - tons of options...
I had fun YouTubing a ton of stuff, but in the end my choice came down to a local tuner (who I trust) giving me both good service and good advice. This forum has LOTS of good info (just look for data, rather than opinion), but ultimately it's your choice. Of course if you can meet a couple of owners who's done similar mods you can hear them in real life! Personally (I have header+op+flexfuel) I REALLY like flexfuel and e85 as it's completely killed the torque dip... I thought I loved driving my car before, but this is really amazing. I just wish I'd done it sooner! |

Thats a link to my channel on youtube, i have like 3 exhaust videos (let me know if you need anymore). I just really went off of reviews and owners opinions. |
Sound, performance, quality.

I decided not to mess with headers or front/overpipe since I didn't want to lose the cats.
So that left me with exhaust. I looked all over youtube for what exhaust sounded best to me (since there is no real performance difference). Then I made my choice based on opinions on forums and price. |

You can get aftermarket catted headers and front pipes fyi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So, with that assumption you need to look at what combination of tune + header meets your power needs and budget. Once you get past the header, pretty much everything you change is really only going to add noise, except for maybe the overpipe. Given the above, I went with an OFH since I already had the OFT. I won't be changing any of the other exhaust components until the break. |
I got a good price on it, it's good quality, and because I needed it to work with the tune Cosworth supplied.

Header + tune, yea that's about all I want. I like the factory exhaust on there now. It's not to noisy not to quiet. I think that's the route I'll go and maybe a CAI to pull in more air. I'm thinking a closed in filter CAI (forgot the name but I saw it in this forum somewhere) Well this gives me something to go on, guess I'll start my research. I think the hardest will be finding a tuner. Most around here are ricer boy tuners, but there are some reputable ones near Road Atlanta where I live. I don't know shit all about tuning cars.
