Reuse or get new exhaust hangers?
when taking off the stock exhaust, do the old hangers get flimsy?
I plan on using either quick detail spray or soapy water as lube rather than wd40 |
Depends. Are you putting on a new exhaust that may weigh more than the original? If so get some polyurethane exhaust hangers otherwise you'll be back under there routinely to replace the OEM rubber ones as they fail.
If your going to continue using the OEM exhaust system and they (factory bushings) aren't horribly cracked or sagging just reuse them. |

When I put the aftermarket exhaust on, I had to take it off about 3 or 4 times due to rookie mistakes with hooking up the midpipe to the catback.
It was still a big pain in the ass to remove and put back on each time but I reckon its still good. It's been 4 months and hasn't fallen off yet. :D Btw, this tool made it much easier. Pricy but I returned it after project was complete. http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...436_0312357105 |
