Quieting and making my car sound nicer.

I have the P&L EL header. HKS dual resonated front pipe, and GReddy Revolution RS exhaust. With just the exhaust it sounded alright then I added the headers and front pipe and now it sounds full on rice. The tone is bad the drone is horrendous and it's obnoxiously loud. I expected drone and it to be loud but not to this extend. What exhaust would you guys recommend for a nice tone as well as low drone. I like my car to be fairly loud but not obnoxious. Thanks guys!

P.S. Love blue tips (not mandatory but...) my budget is preferably less than a grand

does your midpipe have a resonator as well? maybe go back to a stock front pipe? you can also try out the stock muffler and see how it sounds. you don't necessarily have to buy new components

First thing I would do is toss the stock front pipe on. If that doesn't help I'd look into the Perrin 2.5 resonated cat back or invidia Q300

Swap the GReddy Revo RS for an Invidia Q300. 3" piping is going to sound like butt on a naturally aspirated car.

Any idea who the N1 would be?

Still really loud.

Toss on the stock catback. No more drone. I ran your exact setup (or just about). P&L header with catless downpipe, P&L overpipe, HKS dual res frontpipe, stock catback. NO DRONE. Life was bliss once again. If you want a little more out of it, then maybe try the Invidia Q300 or maybe even the GReddy Supreme SP. In the past I ran the Invidia N1 and Tomei 80R. Both were drone city and murder on your ears. I ran the 80R when I went turbo but tried it before the turbo install. Loud as F@#$#! Silencer made it not as embarrassing.

Anyways, try the stock catback first.

The Q300 is sounding like a decent option

It has a Ti tip version. Go for it!

Whatever you do, leave the stock front pipe or buy jdl (super quiet?) front pipe

JimmyMac 01-24-2016 06:40 PM

I see nothing wrong with the dual res HKS front pipe. At least for me there were no issues with it on my setups.

wise345 01-24-2016 06:43 PM

I would just prefer not youse the stock fatback just for looks
