Slowly the brz interior becoming less ghetto

So the obvious upgrades of rims and tail lights as soon as I bought the brz. Since then little things to smooth over the cheap feel of our interiors (I am coming from 2013, and 2014 bmws and Acuras, so the brz cheap centre console area had to be addressed). The shift and brake boots are now alcantara to match the seats. I put in a trd leather shift knob that better matches the seats, put in the leather centre armrest.

Anyone have any suggestions where to go from here?

I have always liked updating the car so it looks more high quality than stock but doesn't scream aftermarket. I like when people can't tell what has or hasn't been done to the car unless they have one themselves.

Get an Alcantara wheel. The JDM armrest. And maybe the cluster hood thing.

They are all nice touches

Swap out the silver dash trim, or get it wrapped in vinyl. The shiny silver plastic just looks cheap.

Think wrapping that trim is a good idea. I hate the look too. Anyone have any interesting wraps on that plastic?

If you think the brz interior is ghetto, you obviously havent sat in the frs.

shit looks like its from the early 2000s

LOL go back to your BMWs if you want luxury. I don't know why you're bothering to dress up a turd of an interior in these cars. Just drive it because that's all these cars were built for.

I want a little of both. I chose the brz over the 2series because I liked the driving feel much better. I wanted loud and twitchy as a driving experience, but I do like quality materials on the inside. My interior is half way through the transformation and obviously tail lights have been done and wheels. In the fully loaded BRZ some of the materials are great, others are pure accountants shaving costs. Slowly improving the materials in a few spots goes a long way (especially putting an arm rest over those cup holders).

As for the above FRS interior remark, I know what you mean, hence why I didn't get an FRS. The new Release Series 2 looks good though.

I swapped out all the cheap-looking silver interior trim for matte black. Made a huge difference.

Also an anodized aluminum reverse lock-out makes a big difference, instead of the budget black plastic one. It's a pain in the ass to install but makes a big difference. A nicer-looking aftermarket shift knob can make a world of difference as well, not only in the looks department, but in the feel department. I personally went for a weighted one and wow; the difference in shift quality was immediately noticeable. Not only that, but it looks great.

I came from 2 BMW's in a row to this car as well but wasn't that disappointed, because I was ready for it. Yes it's cheaper in quality and build, but what did you expect? You can't compare a BMW interior to this car; it's apples and oranges.

I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be, but Kazuya is right; at least (most) BRZ have the nicer-looking digital climate control, alcantara seats, push-button start, and standard nav to make it look somewhat more upscale than the basic-looking FRS interior.

You ever seen JPM coachworks stuff?

lace doilies on the head rests and plastic plants on the rear parcel shelf with brocade seat covers will spice it up a bit. maybe some fake chrome accents on the exterior too. need flame appliques behind the wheel wells!
personally I like the simple interior as it is a drivers car pure and simple.

^ this.

I'm wrapping all of my silver trim in matte white. (White to match my car, matte cause it looks less cheap than gloss)

So far everything is wrapped except for the HVAC control trim and the steering wheel trim. Those two are too annoying to get to so I've been lazy.

Also +1 on JPM coachworks stuff. I have the alcantara knee pads, speaker trim and gauge hood.

Would love to see the cheap, ricey finished product
