Possibly because my ECU never gets a chance to level out on one level of fuel I never notice any difference between one tank and another regardless what level I pump into it. That is the beauty of a ECU that learns since it will adjust to whatever the situation is, give you the best for what you have and reduce the risk of issues.

True, I just use 91 mostly since it's a bit cheaper and tends to be everywhere(even up north at the cottage, gotta love ATV/Snowmobile country). I've been borrowing my dad's Costco card and filling there for like 92 cents/litre for 91 octane, lately.

Yep.

Which is better? Run 93 with 91 or 93 map?

93 with 93 map will better, especially if you're running FI. But its dangerous to use a tune that depends on 93 with only 91.

On a stock car with stock tune, it wont really matter.

Do you use 93% octane

I'm on oft. I usually pump 93 and run 91 map.

As others have said, running a higher octane fuel on a map set up for lower octane fuel isn't going to cause a problem. Obviously you won't be getting the most out of the car; however, it certainly won't damage the engine. Depending on the general quality of gas where you drive, where you purchase fuel, and how closely the fuel quality regulations are followed in your area, running the 91 map might actually be the optimal choice...

Yeps ^

Thats what I meant. 93 gas on 91 map is fine.
91 gas on 93 map is a bad idea.

93% in Georgia I believe is the percentage of siblings involved in romantic relations not the octane percentage of fuel

Although I would not take the chance of running 91 on my 94 map because you know... boost

Yea lol, pretty sure tcoat was talking about just the stock tune. Any custom tune thats meant for 93 or above shouldnt be used with anything below.

Stock tune is basically mapped for 91 I assume, and 93 just gives you more of a safety net.

We have 93 around my parts as well as all the rest. There is even one station I know of with 100 but you need a special card to buy it.
