The Mod Bug

I know most of have had your cars for weeks or days. any of you guys started to add parts like rims, exhaust, suspension etc. I dont personally have my car yet, expecting it next couple of weeks, but i promised myself not to mod within the first 6months to 12 months when i have my car. I honestly think its a waste to mod right away and not enjoy what you paid for, but thats just me.

So who has ther big stuff added already.

When I do decide to drop the bomb next year ill have coils and most suspension upgrades ready.

Ive already driven the car in stock form at the track and loved every bit of it.

I got the car for almost 2 weeks. Was thinking about lowering it but then I found the car is pretty low already and springs will lower another 1.8" I don't think it is suitable for Calgary's winter.

I'm going to try very hard to not mod this car. Well, maybe an air filter, and switch to aftermarket synthetic lube for the engine/trans/diff. It is going to be my daily driver. I have a V6 Mustang with a supercharger that likes to eat mod money for lunch and it won't leave many scraps for the FR-S.

I'm planning to upgrade the brake (brake lines & pads). That's the only thing to do this year. Car's really good enough on the road.

I would consider brake pad n SS brake line, also motul 5.1 brake fluid

First mod: brake pads, probably HP+. I glazed the stock pads at the track last week. Other than that, thrilled with the car.

@Dragon86 I agree with you and modding it this early is a bit of a waste and you might not enjoy/understand the car fully before applying the mods.
@percyng This car is definitely low, thinking of getting winter tires with bigger sidewalls come winter in order to clear the snow...

Thinking of keeping any mods for now to be purely cosmetic, and maybe a K&N air filter.

I was itching to add new wheels, tires, exhaust, etc. However, I've made a pact to wait a while now as well.

Only addition planned until the fall is an Opti-Coat. Like to protect my investment (from myself mainly)

Getting through the break-in period will keep your mind "busy" but there are inexpensive mods that can be done that don't include the high level things we are all waiting on. Tint, Miriad of Plasti-Dip options, Chrome bulbs, Exhaust tips, etc.

This. Wait till more offerings are out, and really plan your path. I look back at my mod path with my speed3 and see where I could have saved close to, if not more than $1000 by just researching performance gains more and shopping deals better. The little mods are still noticeable to you, and to me at least, every little change I've made through the years makes me like the car all over again. Now I'm just bored because I haven't had anything to do in a year and it's killing me.

I did the tint, badge & license re-location. And will be opti-coat this week. And brake pads & brake lines next week.
