Glad to see the "maybe" for the body kit. Nothing wrong with going with the kit but I see one of the other goals is "wheels spray paint". Hold off on the kit until you can get the suspension and wheels to compliment it. Sprayed rims can look ok but when combined with a kit and/or big wing things look off.

Good to set a goal,,
I am already finished 30% of my goal this year!

word of caution, don't modify for the sake of modifying. also, don't take shortcuts or use low quality parts; you'll spend or waste more money overall; and you won't even be happy with it. it is also very easy to ruin the performance of a car with not-thought out modifications.

As usual I agree with Tcoat.

I wouldn't do certain things to my car unless I had everything in line for it, for example if you're going wider wheels you'll be wanting to switch the shocks if you havent already since the stock top hats are likely to hit the rim/wheel, if you're going body kit then you'll definitely be wanting wider wheels / shocks / camber adjustment stuff such as adjustable LCA, etc.

An option to consider is waiting until you need new tyres and replacing with snow tyres on the stock rims, then buy new wheels with summer tyres, that way it's a 30 minute job should the weather ever suck.

Minor cosmetic changes / changing wing, etc, go for it, but anything that effects the transmission, engine or contact with the road and you're better off taking your time and getting it right.
Just remember that there are often more things than initially meet the eye when it comes to mechanical modifications, coilovers is the perfect example, depending on the ride height and wheel choice you are likely going to need alignment and, for more serious changes, adjustable parts to remedy issues with too much camber.

It is *VERY* easy to half-ass things and ruin how the car feels, some follow the belief that so long as it looks how they want it to look, then it can drive like a bag of bolts, but in my opinion the key to a nicely modified car is to keep the essence of the original car while adding your own personal touch.

Wish I could do all of that to my car this year. :(

Hahaha okay I think its a good start. Personally I wouldn't spray the rims, I have never seen them turn out good in person (not saying they won't turn out just my experience) Also with the Spec D headlights I have them and after like 4 months the clear coat on them started to peel

Definately start your own build thread/journal so you can keep track to what you've been doing to your car and it shares it with all of the other members on here.

Here mine; http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...05#post2339105

I don't want to remember how much I spent LMAO, maybe the OP is the same way?

Turbo95eg6 01-20-2016 07:23 PM

OP you should build a notebook journal with pretty pictures of all the spiffy parts you want to buy. Take it with you everywhere you go and put cool racing stickers on it.
