I was at a point where, I would need to build the motor for about $10k (from a reputable shop aka FullBlown), plus strengthen/swap the transmission ($4K+) and still have the potential of the sensitive finicky cam gearing/phasing system/ECU fuck up at any time... My FA20 treated me good as it held 500+ whp and 450+ wtq, but even built I would never feel at peace knowing an issue like this could pop up anytime for no reason.

I would go for the swap. I have huge respect for these motors because they do have a lot to give, but only to a certain extent. I enjoy the car still because Its a love and hate relationship. I also want to boost it again, but don't have the resources to just buy another motor in case this one goes bad.
