NW Coilover Shootout
Hey guys, I want to get together a few NW FR-S guys who would want to purchase/install suspension on their cars so we can have a coilover buyers guide/install DIY/shootout.
I know that NickFRS has the BC Racing coilovers on the way. I have a set of KWs here that I am waiting for someone to buy while my D2s ship out from the manufacturer, and I might possibly have a set of Standard Suspension coilovers heading my way, too. On top of that, we could compare against Eibach springs (also on the way) and a stock FR-S as well. I'm pretty sure NickFRS would agree to this, now I just need a few other FR-S owners in the Portland area who want to sign on. I can sell the KWs, Standard Suspension coils and Eibach springs at my cost (prolly cheaper than you would get on eBay) and install them in my shop in exchange for a few beers. That means that we could do a shootout between six FR-S's where all six of us can drive every car through a standardized course and give our impressions. |
sounds fun, but that project is a ways down the $$ line for me at the moment
|
I would be interested, if my car would just show up...
|
Well YEAH! What's your delivery ETA?
|
"waitlist" since early april. last time I talked to SOA they said its going to be months out since I am still on waitlist status. tried to say i get my vin when the car is made at the plant.
long story, I don't want to go into it here...yet... that story will come, but not till my purchase is complete, trust me it will be worth the wait. I just don't want to bad mouth the dealer before they have a chance to fix things. and I don't want them to deny me my car because I am going to say some hurtfull, but true, things. |
I get it. Well, hopefully it shows up sooner rather than later. Good luck, man.
|
thanks. you and me both. I already sold my daily driver and I am driving out rallyx car till the new one shows up.
|
Cant wait for my BC's!
|
...and my D2s that should be coming about the same time!
Waiting sucks. |
Too bad your all the way in the PNW. We are working on this out here on the east cost.
What tires/ sizes are you going to use? I think we could pool resources to educate the consumer. |
The wheel/tires sizes depend on the other 86 owners who participate. I'll keep you in the loop when we get the suspension parts in... so far only Eibach Pro-Kit and KW v3s are here... still waiting on BC Racing and D2 to ship their coilovers.
|
I received a delivery date of 09 August. Should I go forward with acquiring the car, suspension would be an immediate purchase. I'd be interested, but mostly intrigued by AST at the moment.
|
Yeah, let me know... it looks like I am going to have the Eibach Pro's, Sportlines and KW's sitting around, plus maybe the Eibach coilovers as well. If you buy something else then it would be cool to include that in the test.
Also, I added your to the pending list here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6070 |
too bad you are in Portland OR because i would be interested
