Ford Mach-E

I get Ford's intention with the design, but it just doesn't work for me. If the Mustang didn't exist, and this SUV had different tail lights and didn't have the running horse then I think it would work for me, but the styling is hard to get past, yet I do like the interior; they did a good job with the layout and design there. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to debadge the car and get some aftermarket tail lights.

Yeah I dont get the mustang association but then again I dont get a lot of things lol. Either way in 10 years from now these things will probably be all over the place whether I buy the mustang lineage or not.

This must be so embarrassing for Mustang owners. No more SUV, CUV, any kind of UVs.

um... do you honestly thing Mustang owners would be embarrassed by this? They're already the butt of jokes.

Now, the crowds'll never hear it coming is all.

Slap a bush bar on this thing and nobody's safe! :confused0068:

Mustang, seriously?

Trash.

This just makes me want to buy a V-8 before they are totally banned

This was discussed a bit in Random Thoughts but to summarize the thoughts there...

It shouldn't be called a Mustang anything, and particularly a "Mach".

The "radiator blank" in the front is stupid, what the hell were they thinking? There was no reason they couldn't create a design without that flat area.

The interior gets mixed reviews. Personally I wouldn't buy it for that one reason. I don't like the "stuck on iPad" look. The screens are OK but they should be integrated into the dashwork and not superglued to the outside. Others like it or could tolerate it.

For a "family car" the range is OK but would be better if higher, the recharge rates sucks but that's not unique to Ford.

Also as stated in Random, they have tried messing with the Mustang name in the past. It failed miserably when the public started to scream!

Hah I remember that, they wanted that particular FWD car to be the new mustang, but the Mustang fans wouldn't have any of it, so they decided to PROBE the masses with this car instead.

The project was named "Probe" right from the start even when it was going to be the next Mustang. Pretty sure that whoever named it was sure that it would fail.
The resulting Probe model was actually a pretty decent car for a FWD coupe and paved the way for many of the later performance FWD market to produce more than just econobox people movers. Sure as hell wasn't a Mustang any more than this concept EV is though.

Wasn't the Probe a sort of derivative of the Mazda MX-6?
Or did they just share parts and made their own car?

Well they were built on the Mazda G platform that the MX-6 also shared. Not sure how many common parts bin pieces were used though.

I mean, the Mustang is already an overweight numb boat that markets to people who don't know any better. I suppose this is no worse.
