Thought there was a post for this, but couldn't find it.

I wanted to post a few pics.

Been loving the new splitter, I have the 5" version.

Looks good, were there any tests done like the ft86 speed factory one?

I'm not sure.

Maybe @Wonderbar knows

Looked on their website, the rear diffuser and side splitters look good and are functional. Once I get my suspension done, I might have to pick those up.

The 3" one should perform similar (though better). The 5" one should perform quite a bit better.

Here is the review on the Velox (ft86speedfactory) splitter and why He switched to this foam core carbon fiber.

Velox was doing the testing until driveway labs asked for changes to be made to the splitter design to perform better, and they declined. He then went and chose to go with this carbon splitter, at which point they cut ties with him.

I'm assuming the 5" one would make it that much harder clearing driveways and speed bumps lol. My car isn't lowered yet, but my previous car was pretty low.

I don't want to make this a Velox vs. DWL thread as that isn't the kind of company we operate, but that isn't how it went down at all. To give a quick background, we ran the CFD for him 2 years ago for free. Our CFD analysis has given him quite a bit of credit as far as functionality of his products.

For the splitter, we built what he wanted. He could not afford to do a production order and went down another route.

The splitter in the video is not ours. It is a much larger splitter we designed for him which was not installed correctly. We designed our splitter with different goals in mind than that of the Wasp unit. Check the video below for on car testing of the Velox splitter. Please, lets put this thread back on topic and not make this Velox vs. DWL.

I made a 4.5" splitter and it was slightly difficult with some speed bumps and uneven road surfaces (I'm quite low though). Depends on how the roads are where you live.

Not sure how posting a video pointing at the part the chassis mounted splitter ties are attached to helps disprove his video... But doesn't matter at this point.

Where can I buy the splitter? What's the price?

DustinS 04-30-2017 02:18 PM

No longer available. He was working with Wasp Composites, and had some issues with them. So he stopped working with them and is working on making them himself when he gets the time. I recommmed MPH Fabrications if you need one soon.

Testimony to the splitter's design withstanding a BMW X5:

Can only see two cracks in the carbon fiber. The bonding separated between carbon fiber and foam, and foam is pretty mushy - but it's still rigid, it held up incredibly well.

Keep making amazing products! @Wonderbar
