Need any special lubrication ?

RRnold 01-13-2014 08:25 PM

The FT-1 is a lot better b/c it doesn't contain any parts from Subaru! ;)

Whitigir 01-13-2014 08:28 PM

My honest opinion...86 is better.

BECAUSE

You can drive it now!

switchlanez 01-13-2014 08:39 PM

FT-1 doesn't have a conventional manual transmission.

40 weight sounds nice.

It looks gorgeous but how many iterations will it be until we see it become a reality?

Also, will be the bastard child in some ways the Twins were? Or is it going to be a full on Toyota in-house project like the LFA?

Time will tell. I wasn't even of legal driving age when the golden age for Toyota hit and by the time the last sports car rolled out of their dealerships, I just started paying off student loans in my first job.

I'd love to see this in the 50-60k range, but my suspicion is that by the time something like it is released, it will be watered down and 100k.

lol im betting it'll be too heavy and big/bulky for my Personal taste, but im sure I'll love the car for its power n rwd
and im not expecting anything like its prototype

Wolfking 01-14-2014 05:39 AM

Two questions! How much? When can I purchase one? One thing is for certain, if Toyota builds it then prices it like the LFA, then again the masses will ask "who the hell did they build it for?" If Toyota has the foresight to price this within "mortal range" and it performs!! Then they will not be able to keep them in stock. I can't wait!!!!

I would rather they just make a modified 2-seat version of the FR-S, with wishbone front suspension and the engine/trans moved way aft to allow a much lower hoodline/fenderline and give 50/50 or more rearward weight distribution => modern 2000GT! With 300+hp turbo option ;)

Ouhei 01-14-2014 01:28 PM

If they're bringing back the Supra, you can bet it's going to be spec'd/priced to compete with the GTR (and presumably NSX). To price it lower would make it a 370z competitor and that just doesn't seem to be what they're going for with that design.

It's a good looking concept, the front is a little odd but I like a lot of the lines they've created. The video is weird, I know it's US based, but the FR-S is clearly a Toyota to most of the world so to say Toyota doesn't have a sports car is just strange.

Edit: as far as it VS the Twins; it's obviously going to a much faster/higher end car so comparing them isn't really fair.
