Can the OEM kicker sub box be used with a different amp/sub?
 

Just wondering if the OEM kicker sub box can be used without the amp, and if the sub is unique or if any standard sub can be used.

I'm looking for a sub box that takes up as little space as possible, and doesn't cost as much as the JL Audio box. The MTX would have been fine, and i saw another one but the company seems to have disappeared. that leaves either DIY or use the OEM Subaru.

I have an aftermarket head unit and plan to apply sound deadening materials to the doors and elsewhere but I think i want just a bit more low-frequency.

An alternative could be custom made sub box to the spare tire.

No, no one has done it yet with the oem kicker sub. That takes high level inputs from the oem amp under the trunk floor, adds another amp, I believe, and then goes into the box. There's really almost no info even been posted about the kicker setup though, so you'd be in new waters.

Integrity concepts was the go-to box place that vanished, and the box I currently run.

Found this very similar model a few years ago, but don't know anyone that's used it, so I can't speak on fit or quality.

The $350 price is very fair for a custom fit fiberglass box. I just don't know anything about it other than what's on the website

this is also an option. Cost me 770 polish dollars ($210 USD) shipped. Bought it 9/14 and was shipped 9/16 with an arrival date of 9/20.
