Transmission Noise in Neutral @ Cold Start

Hello everyone!!

I'm Matteo from Italy.. this is my first post about my GT86! :D

I noticed a strange noise coming from the gearbox, as you can hear in the video.

Cold start (morning), car @ idle 600rpm, gear in neutral and cluch off.

If i press the cluch pedal (as you can hear in the video), the noise go away. After a few miles the noise go away compleatly.

I went today to the dealer, they say that they have to change de gearbox and differential oil... well it is very strange, the car have about 8500km (5300miles)...

Any advice?

Thank you very much and sorry for my bad English. :D

it seems to be a noisy throw out bearing or pilot bearing; should be an easy fix.

I have this exact noise as well. Goes away once you push the clutch in?

Had this noise to. Went away when I pressed in the clutch pedal. My dealer replaced the transmission. The noise didn't go away but the dealer doesn't "hear" it. Interesting that they did not replace the pilot bearing. The new transmission did come with a new throw out bearing.

It's hard to tell, but I don't hear anything unusual..
Sounds like a noisy clutch assembly and cold rotating gears..
Your sitting real close to the transmission in this car.. That and minimal
Insulating materials gives you a real live close up performance!
I had similar noises in my last few sports cars and they were all noticeable
And considered normal.

Diddo on the crazy rattling sound mid way during warm up - clutch in = happy brz

Mine started doing the same thing now that it's gotten cold... My throwout bearing is pretty squeaky too...

I heard something exactly like this for the first time today. If I were in neutral, without the clutch in, and rev slighty, you would hear transmission "chatter." Clutch in, no sound. It sounds like a bad rattle.

I have noticed this for about a month, but as the temps have stared to drop in Maine, I feel as though it is becoming more noticeable.

Hello Guys! I have news...

Last monday my dealer change differential and gearbox oil (i hope using the manual spec)...

The noise is now different, i can barely hear it, but still there!

Tomorrow i try to record it again...

Hello!

Do you think that changing the oil of gearbox and differential (i don't know why the change even the differential oil), will reduce the noise permanently?

Thanks! :)
