New wheels

So I’m looking to buy new wheels for my 2014 Graphite Gray BRZ.
First off, I’m thinking of either black or bronze wheels. What do y’all think would look better..?
Secondly, should I order different sizes for my wheels? Stagger them? Maybe 18’s or 19’s in the back with 17’s or 18’s in the front?
I’d appreciate the feedback, thanks.

Two ways to go about it in my mind.

Black wheels will kinda blend with the gray of the car and won't stand out. If you're all for matching everything then go that route.

Bronze is the opposite, it'll give the car contrast and in my opinion make it more interesting.

Sizing depends entirely on what you're using the car for. These cars like square setups the best, but if you're not really doing any performance driving then it matters less. How much less is up to the user. I strongly advise against 19's. Keep it in the smaller range.

My opinion? get the same size wheel all around.

Black wheels always look dirty unless whey're washed constantly.
And I personally wouldn't stagger them. It limits rotation options.

My advice would be, get the same size wheels front and back with the same sized tires.

Staggered tires on this car are a bad idea imo, and you loose the ability to do a full tire rotation.

Do not stagger the wheel diameter.
Bronze is the best wheel color on any car next to silver for an OEM+ look.

If you are set on upgrading your wheels, go with 17s or 18s and get an offset lower than +40 to get better fitment with the fenders.
17s are the best all around wheel in my opinion, as you can fit a nice width and sidewall height without worrying about rubbing. Also, 18" wheels make our brake assembly look too small. Nothing is dumber looking than a tiny rotor floating in the middle of huge open wheels

Why do people ask others what others think would look better for their car..?

Because indecision is a killer. Sometimes it's easier to have your hand forced than to just make a choice and be responsible for it.

These types of people must need help picking out their socks in the morning then.

Often enough, at least in my experience, indecisive people know what they already want and when "forced" to pick something, they go the opposite.

Black is the bet colour tho.

I agree with this.
"SHOULD I GO BUILT MOTOR OR STOCK?"
Everyone- "Just go stock if you don't plan on going turbo in the future"
"SRY EVERY1 I GOT A STAGE 4 IAG BLOCK JUST INCASE THX UR ALL GRATE"

Corvettes and a few other cars are staggered front to back by design. And the traction control system is designed for it. Im sure on these cars it would throw something off.
Some do a width stagger but that's mainly forced induction cars that need the extra traction in the rear.

I have 18 inch wheels and the stock brakes certainly don't look too small. He is not talking about putting on a 22 inch wheel lol. I mean...I guess if you are going for the supercar look than yeah the stock brakes are going to look small on a large wheel.

IMO, 19'S are too big.

18's look amazing, have more tire choices, and have more wheel widths available.

17's are lightweight, best for performance, and still look big compared to 16".

Get a Square setup. Staggered is not as good. I tried 4 different staggered setups. I'm Back to square.

I've had staggered size front and rear too. IMO, because the car wasn't designed for it, it looks stupid.

Choose the color of your wheels yourself. If they make you happy, that's all that matters.

If you get 8" wide wheels, get 215 or 225 width tires. If you get 9" wide wheels, get a +42 offset at the highest. (unless planning on coils at the same time)

I wouldn't get lower than +25 offset for 9" wheels.

You can run 245 tires on 9" wheels with a +25 to + 42 offset.

Get camber bolts too.

Um... Yeah...

More information about what you want out of the "upgrade"

Better looks, faster, more cornering grip, less road feel, more road feel. Depending on the wheels and tires you choose, you will change how the car drives.

What do you want to change? :thanks:

i agree that staggered diameter is a bad idea for this car (or any car not built for it) but in theory i think he'd be alright if he went with staggered size so long as the tires are approx the same height - it would just look goofy as hell. like 225-40-18 up front and 245-40-17 in the back
