I don't have any photos of the car with the drop yet as I'm in the process of putting my initial set of Whiteline parts on the car and it is still on jackstands. BTW, these Whiteline parts were available to me as a result of a Gift Certificate I won in the raffle at 86fest. Thanks to the event organizers and Whiteline! Here's what Whiteline parts will be on the car by the end of this weekend: KCA416 - Front Camber adj bolt kit - 16mm BSF45Z - Front Sway bar - 20mm heavy duty KCA434 - Front Control arm - lower inner front bushing (anti-dive/caster correction) W0509 - Front Control arm - lower inner rear bushing KSR210 - Front Steering - rack & pinion mount bushing W63414 - Rear Trailing arm - lower front bushing KDT926 - Front Gearbox - positive shift kit bushing And a set of the RaceCompEngineering Yellows. Waiting on the following parts which will be put on at a later time once they show up: KCA335 - Front Strut mount - offset assembly (camber/caster correction) KSB652 - Front Brace - strut tower KCA326 - Rear Control arm - upper inner bushing (camber correction) KDT921 - Rear Crossmember - mount bushing BSR54Z - Rear Sway bar - 16mm heavy duty blade adjustable KDT925 - Rear Diff - mount in cradle & support outrigger insert bushing And: Rear LCAs and adj Toe Arms once they become available. |

So didn't take a whole bunch of photos of the install process, but here's some of the end result.
The car is still on jackstands. I'm exhausted as I went out for my first Mtn Bike ride in 9 months this AM. I'll be dropping it off the jackstands and giving the lugnuts a final tug tomorrow. Will post some more photos shortly thereafter. |
awesome parts cant wait for the pics with the drop.

So everything is back together finally. I have an appointment at 8AM tomorrow for an alignment. Took a quick drive to 7-11 to get beer and make sure the wheels didn't fall off, LOL. The rear end looks a bit lower which is probably due in part to my 2 12in subs in a decent box. Here's some photos.
|
looks good, give it 2 weeks it will lower a bit more, Id wait for those 2 weeks for the alignment
|
Just got back from the alignment shop and took the car on a spirited run on some local backroads. This thing feels planted and has significantly less understeer.
The alignment shop set my rear toe to 0, found that the car has about 1.75-2 degrees negative camber in rear. They set the front to 1.375 negative camber, and about 8.25 degrees caster, and 0 toe. I did also find that passing over a uneven construction plate on a backroad at speed used the full travel of my suspension. I'll have to watch for those in the future. ;) |
Whiteline tranny mount bushing (on AT) and Perrin exhaust bushings went on today. Sorry no photos.
|
Trans bushing worthwhile?
8.25 caster? Damn that's a lot! |
