It seems RTV issues been blow out of proportion on YouTube and other social media forum.:sigh:

One potential problem that owners should be aware of is the RTV silicone sealant around the oil pan. Over time, the RTV can come off and find its way into the oil pickup. This can then clog the pickup, starving the engine of oil and leading to a breakdow - even www.torquenews.com is picking it up in their article.

I'm glad it is a known issue, how rare the case is.

Is this satire? I thought it was a real opinion, but then you linked torquenews and now I cant tell.

So blown out of proportion today but correct proportion when everyone is popping their motors in the future? :iono:

Wait.........there's an RTV issue?

Weird, I haven't seen anything about it in multiple, national publications.

Boy that one dealer's actions have created a $hitstorm of bad press for Toyota/Subaru..

Is the video OP's?

If so, ban. I'm getting tired of low count posters coming in and sharing stupid videos in an attempt to get more views for said stupid videos.

Nope. Just another youngish guy that lives by YouTube reviews and thinks we would be interested. He meant no harm.

Be careful using the word "blown" too freely

Maybe, I wasn't around the FT86 world back then. Were dealer's denying warranty repair for this issue before it became a recall?

I wasn't really referring to the RTV issue specifically, I was referring to this dealer's decision to deny the warranty on the basis of abuse because an owner's car had been used as Toyota advertises it is designed to be..
