2nd Gen factory tint?

Seems like there are a couple of threads on 1st Gen brz factory glass tint.

Does anyone have specs on the glass characteristics for 2nd Gen brz/gr86?

It seems to have a brownish/yellowish hue. If I have a windshield cover it seems like it doesn’t get as hot as it could. Is the brz glass somewhat heat or UV rejecting? Trying to decide if I should get tint to protect against UV and keep the cabin cool.

From the New Car Info documentation...

Overview
Glass
• Glass with a UV cut function is adopted for each pane of glass.
• In addition to the UV cut function, an IR cut function is added to the windshield glass.
• Partition glass is adopted to reduce blind spots and improve visibility

I have yet to see any car that didn't benefit from tint and it is the first thing I do with every car I buy. Best $350 spent. If you never tinted a car before you need to consider visibility at night. It's considerably different than during the day.

I tinted all around including the windshield with the IR blocking stuff, made a big difference.

Yeah i tried 30 once and felt uncomfortable driving at night. I think I’d do 70 for this car since its already slightly tinted

I have been fairly impressed with how well the current glass blocks UV/IR with just what is provided from the factory.

My previous car had little/no UV blocking on the glass and the AC would struggle to keep the car cool on a hot day. Tinting was totally absolutely needed. My second gen BRZ is far better. I spent 6-ish hours on a road trip with it last weekend in 100F weather and the car was very comfortable. I didn't feel any of the heat coming off the glass like I have in others.

I may still do a tint at some point, but I'm not as desperate to get it done.
