Why doesn't this forum have...

Why doesn't this forum have the function where it automatically takes you to the last post you read on a certain thread. Say for example - you read up to post 27 on a certain thread. Next time you open up that thread it will automatically take you to post 28 (If there are new posts). It it SO convenient and other forums I frequent have adopted this method. So what's holding us back?

You could hit the New Posts button, it looks like an arrow going from top left to lower right and is located at the left side of the thread title if there are new posts in it.

That does work.

But, I (in this case) am really only interested in threads on the Northwest Regional and the Issues | Warranty | Recalls / TSB sections of the forum.

It would be nice if the 'last post read' feature was available within the various sections without have to go that route.

Just a minor gripe. I actually thought it was on there recently but maybe I was still just reading everything from Post #1 at that time.

Why doesn't this forum have free cake....

I like cake.....

why? 03-14-2019 07:55 AM

are you talking about going to a thread, and hitting a button to see all the posts you've never seen before?

Or are you talking about a button that shows you all the threads you've read before?

It very much has the first. It is the big arrow icon that points to the bottom right. It is also at the top of every page of every thread and even says,"View first Unread."

I'd like to see a "GROAN" button next to the Thanks.

Would be a great feature. Don't know if it would work for me though. Could freeze the whole damn place up.

Ya I was just setting up the joke. I would never use such a feature. I just read all the threads backwards from the newest post to the last time I posted. Usually don't have to go too far back though.

Except for when someone asks about buying a miata instead... 6 pages in one day, oy...

I like cake just as much as the next fat guy.

That sounds great!

Because some people don't like cake, and prefer brownies. Then soon the forum will fall into a civil war of cake vs. brownies, with small cookie factions popping up here and there but without the support to sustain the fight. Turmoil will ensue until the forums separate with no clear victor, just losses on both sides.
