First road trip for my FR-S...am I being paranoid?

My Whiteout FR-S is a little over a week and a half old and I am getting ready to head 430 miles north from central Florida to northeast Atlanta this weekend to spend time with family. I know there are things we cannot control when it comes to road debris hitting the car while traveling. However, if there is something I can do to protect the paint on the car I would like to try. What is everyone's thoughts on protecting the front end of the car with painter's tape? I definitely do not have $$ for a bra. Oh, total mileage for the trip is going to be around 860 miles because of course I have to drive back! :happyanim: Thank you ahead of time for your thoughts!

9/10 Scion owners wreck their cars. 10/10 FR-S Drivers do.

Your car will be dinged by jerks in parking lots, rocks will chip the paint, windshields will be cracked, and you might be in a fender bender. No matter what you do something will happen.

You buy a car to drive. Only garage queens stay in perfect condition.

Oem touch up paint is 15 bucks. Stock up on em.

Couldn't say it any better. I've had mine 2 months and the hood and left fender are having to be painted due some awhile throwing something at my FR-S.

Put a nice coat of wax on it.

I saw a thread the other night about oem touch up paint, definitely thinking about getting some or asking for them as a late Xmas gift.

Well this is comforting! :bonk: Wondering if these stats will give you info on the driving experience level of the FR-S drivers....

That's awful, why would someone do that? Sorry to hear that!

I actually have a post with me ranting about it. Look for "Bottle thrown at FR-S"

Instead of taping the front of your car, work on not tail gating the guy in front of you and that will go a long way towards keeping the nose of your car clean.

Thanks @whaap, I appreciate the suggestion. I find that not tailgating people on the highway also helps you avoid accidents, gives you time to react and move to a safe area. This is one of the first lessons I learned from living in Florida with all the heavy rain that can pop up out of nowhere. In the almost 4 years that I've lived here, I have witnessed close to 4-5 people spinning out on the highway after a hard rain and had I not had a considerable distance between us, I would have been toast!
