EcuFlash gets stuck at 0% when reading flash
1 Attachment(s)
I am having an issue reading my ECU with ECU flash, I an using a tactrix openport 2.0 to attempt to read the flash on my 2013 FR-S. I have tried waiting anywhere between 15 seconds to a few minutes in between turning the key to the on position and starting the read. I have tried using an OBD 2 extension cable and tried replacing the usb cable between the tactrix and the laptop but it always seems to get stuck right after "entering bootloader".
I am looking for some troubleshooting advice on this. I have updated the 32bitbase.xml and the ZA1JA01C.xml files and made sure I have the correct and most up to date drivers for the tactrix. I have all unnecessary accessories powered off when attempting to read the flash. I have attached a screenshot of the ecuflash log. |
do you have anything else connected to can buss.
Had person with similar problem has a gerald jist Track box wired in it upset tactrix read. once disconnected all ok also make susre battery volts in car good and above 12v and also try bending both rows of tactrix pins inward so it makes better connection with obd port or try a short obd extension cavle |
I got flaky connections with an extension cable, but always good when directly connected.
Also any weird software on the PC? |
I do have a Gerald Just Trac box. After disconnecting it ECUflash immediately was able to read. Thanks for the help guys. I am wondering now if I can rig up a switch to cut power to the Trac box when flashing.

yes either drop power to trac bocpx or a double pole switch to diconbect it from CAN Buss may be better |
Jist talked to Geralld he said switch off all switches on track box to off then it should not send any data on CAN buss
