Aftermarket Mods / Will this void my warranty?
 

Didn't see this posted, so if it is, feel free to close my thread. With the release of the 86, I'm sure everyone has the modding bug, as I have. And I'm also sure that some people might be worried about their warranty when using bolt ons.

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

If a dealership denies you warranty because you have a bolt on part(CAI, exhaust, etc) don't be afraid to demand that they prove it in writing.
