I'll be at the Crossroads mall in Torrance this Friday evening if anyone wants to check it out. 1st Friday of the month get together for Japanese sports cars.

Any plans to dyno the car? I am curious as to what all that piping will do to the response of the whole system...

Just to clear up an issue that may be confusing a few people about the water cooling of the turbo. The turbo I'm running is a Comp-turbo oil-less type. It has very expensive ceramic bearings that are packed in grease and need to be repacked every 30,000 miles. The water cooling only flows around the bearing packs to keep them cool. The water is not lubricating the turbo. It's pretty new technology and I like new technology so I am giving it a whirl, no pun intended. They are being used more and more and the feed back is great. No more oil starved turbos when the return pump dies.

And the big plus is you can mount the turbo however you want with the intake side of the turbo facing upward if you wanted cause of the oil less system. No limitation! I read about these turbos a while back but was turned down cause of how much the maintenance for these costs every 30k miles. But I'm in for videos too!!! The sound of spool from rear mount turbo is so addicting :-) |
there's a lot of ignorance and useless posts regarding patents and the overall performance of rear-mount turbos. Keep it to a minimum and let the Thread starter answer relevant questions and (hopefully) post videos, dyno info, etc.

This new turbo type interests me too

Hey, this car has tons of space for a proper turbo setup ... let's .... say F that! Gross
No reason to ever do this unless there's no room up front. |
