I'm not against buying a license but I'm not infringing on the oil patent even remotely just the remote mount maybe. I didn't know about STS until after so it definitely is not deliberate on my part. I just thought it up. Oh well it is what it is. I'm having fun and it works awesome.

I wouldn't worry about it. My system is not remote. Its no more out of the engine bay than an OEM Subaru WRX. Just sits lower.

I agree, I really love your system Don, a lot of nice engineering. 100% top notch.

I'll be at the Crossroads mall in Torrance this Friday evening if anyone wants to check it out. 1st Friday of the month get together for Japanese sports cars.

Any plans to dyno the car? I am curious as to what all that piping will do to the response of the whole system...

Just to clear up an issue that may be confusing a few people about the water cooling of the turbo. The turbo I'm running is a Comp-turbo oil-less type. It has very expensive ceramic bearings that are packed in grease and need to be repacked every 30,000 miles. The water cooling only flows around the bearing packs to keep them cool. The water is not lubricating the turbo. It's pretty new technology and I like new technology so I am giving it a whirl, no pun intended. They are being used more and more and the feed back is great. No more oil starved turbos when the return pump dies.

And the big plus is you can mount the turbo however you want with the intake side of the turbo facing upward if you wanted cause of the oil less system. No limitation! I read about these turbos a while back but was turned down cause of how much the maintenance for these costs every 30k miles. But I'm in for videos too!!! The sound of spool from rear mount turbo is so addicting :-)

there's a lot of ignorance and useless posts regarding patents and the overall performance of rear-mount turbos. Keep it to a minimum and let the Thread starter answer relevant questions and (hopefully) post videos, dyno info, etc.

only the second is replaced the primary is retained because the factory header is reused. Same as with our soon to be released kit.

We use quite a bit of Comp Turbos here in house and the quality is top not. They are more prone to backpressure issues than Precision but their longevity is amazing even in journal bearing form. The response on the billet wheels is almost instant in comparison to the equivalent sized cast wheel version. We have been following the oil-less series some and they use an industrial grease and require periodic service from a grease gun. But the shear convenience makes it worth while if it within your budget. Some will praise other brands because thats what they know and hear about. But the rest of us who are deep into the industry will always test new products because id rather find something that works by testing it than jump on the new passing wagon.

This new turbo type interests me too

Hey, this car has tons of space for a proper turbo setup ... let's .... say F that! Gross

No reason to ever do this unless there's no room up front.

Sorry about trying something a little different than the other guy's. I had a blast doing it and still am, what a difference in performance.
