edelbrock boost is warrantied. take a PP and just add tires.

no more bitching allowed about whyunoSTI subaru

I think your costs are off. What is the base price for PP, edelbrock cost + tune + installation, plus tires? Also you no longer have a warranty, so how would that factor in?

funwheeldrive 12-23-2016 01:46 PM

More like 40k...

Lynxis 12-23-2016 01:55 PM

Calculating it out:

$29660 car+PP
$5500 Carb legal tuned Edlebrock SC
~$500 extreme performance summers in 225/45r17

$35660

Edit: Also factor in labour to install everything, Edlebrock only warranties the car if the SC has been professionally installed by a certified mechanic.

Edit 2: All prices listed are USD.

Where the hell do you buy your ties to get anything decent for $500 total? I want an address.

Sorry should have clarified, all prices quoted are in USD. Look at tirerack.com for tire prices.

funwheeldrive 12-23-2016 02:47 PM

For some reason I though the PP was around 32k.

I guess that is the price of the Series.Yellow though.

goldenfri 12-23-2016 02:55 PM

The good/bad thing about the performance package is if they just called it the BRZ STI instead of an option package on the limited I bet you wouldn't be able to get it nearly as cheap as you can now.

Right now you can easily get it under invoice, but if it had STI in the name I bet dealers would be trying to mark it up or at the very least not selling under MSRP.

I think wider wheels/tires may be needed, but agree with the premise. There are plenty of FI options and imo the price of the car makes up for the lack of factory FI.

Edelbrock indemnifies warranty i do believe.

PPs can be had for ~28k before tax

225/17 MPSS are like, what, 600/set?

admittedly, a little generous on SC labor costs.
