Sold the car

Anxiety about the valve spring recall got to be too much, wasn't enjoying the car anymore. Thought alot about getting another 86, as it is an awesome platform, but decided life is too short to not try new things, so decided on a 124 spider abarth. I may still lurk from time to time. Learned alot here. Best Wishes.

I’m driving a 2017 Miata RF now. You’ll miss the space for sure but it’s a super fun car to drive. My first recommendation is to change the steering wheel to something like the KenStyle. Seems weird but definitely the best change.

You sold your car because of a recall?....

CONGRATULATIONS!

Enjoy your new roadster -

mrs humfrz and I toured with our NC Miata for eight years and 88,000 miles. No doubt the most fun car I have ever owned (sorry, FR-S, but your top just won't go back - ;)).

Yep, learn to pack light and you will be just fine for touring.

I get a strange feeling this is a troll given the 124 Spider's motor... but I understand the worry.

Best of luck!

i don't blame you, i once sold a car because i was tired of refilling the transmission fluid.

124 spider abarth. A Miata without any of that pesky reliability.

If I were in your shoes, I would have gotten the recall done and negotiate a deal for post 2014 model BRZ. I also cross shopped the Miata and Fiat 124 Abarth before buying the BRZ. FCA customer service or lack there of and inherent electronic problems and resale value were cons of the 124. The noise and LSD were pros vs the Miata.
One problems FCA never solved was the alarm randomly going off, during driving or in the middle of the night. Some owners had this happened daily and sold the car because they can't take it anymore. The dealership refused to take the car in and asked the owners to stop calling because they simply can't fix it.
And you think the BRZ recall was too much.... :laughabove:

He did have the recall done. Probably has several hundred miles on the car since it was done. Was probably a success story that has now been turned into a horror one.
