Not sure what is on my paint, superglue?

Hello,

I removed all 4 emblems off my 2015 FR-S using a hair dryer/floss/goo gone.

On the back emblem, there's this super strong glue (Maybe superglue? idk) that nothing will take it off. I've even used nail polish remover :bonk: and it didn't take it off. I have an auto body friend who's never seen it either...

Any suggestions?

-Thanks

Also, sorry, Dunno why my attachement is upside down.

did the badge pull up the clear coat?

Thats what it looks like to me.

I thought that at first, but its raised when you feel it, like braille. Stops when your finger nail hits it.

That's a sigh of relief then. I would try some mineral spirits, maybe some laquer thinner in extremely small dabs and amounts. Or take it to a pro.

The trunk emblem? Most likely not it, but raised/bubbled portions on the paint can be be rust forming under it.

Maybe try alcohol - :iono:

Looks to me like it's down to primer/metal. What does the back side of the emblem look like?

At least it's a small part that can be taken off the car

If you want a black de badged piece, I can send it to you. Managed to remove without damaging

You must try vinegar. It will work for you.

but only if you rub it onto the car with a bucket of SPAM.

Might of been glue if it you aren’t the original owner. I bought a spare trunk and previous owner had also superglued the emblem on :/

Not a big deal as it’s such an easy part to remove, and small. Just sand it and get some paint match spray. Fill the emblem holes while you’re at it if you want a nice debadged look
