No. Not even close.

Not giving you a click.

When I finally receive my new BRZ Limited, I’ll be willing to make an even trade for a new Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0. I’d make that sacrifice, even though the BRZ is obviously the better car… ;)

Under $50K maybe. Just maybe.

Nope. MSRP of a 1SS Camaro 1LE is $46k.

You could say under $35k, but the ND2 Miata would like to have a word. So you could say "The best handling RWD under $35k that isn't a convertible."

Which leaves exactly one car.

excuse me if i'm wrong but isn't the new gen is a better handling car than the newest miata? They are definitely different experiences, lighter and more body roll in the miata. But Stock for stock, we win in every situation, besides wind blown hair category. unless i've missed something?

Miata has better shifter, more torque off idle, far better fuel efficiency, arguably better build quality and projected long-term reliability, better sounding engine…

Add to it the ease of changing spark plugs!

Best entry level, affordable sports car? Sure, with the ND coming a very close second
Best for under $100k? EXTREMELY far from it
Supra, M2CS, M4, Camaro SS1LE, Mustang GT, Cayman GTS and the Corvette will all outperform the twins and are all under $100k

The current vette and ss1le and mach 1 mustang are tremendous value for money as well for how they perform.

To be fair, he posed it as a question. The answer of course is "no".

The answer is no, but dollar for dollar I would definitely say it's the best sports car you can buy right now. Miata is a pretty close second, but anything beyond the absolute base model already becomes more expensive than an 86. Plus the base Miata doesn't have an LSD, so you would basically HAVE to pay more just for the car to be equally equipped on paper. The Miata is a better car in some ways, but ultimately more expensive for a less useable vehicle, and one that probably needs to be modified more out of the box if you want to do any sort of competitive driving.

Outside of that, there just plain isn't anything close when it comes to price. Camaro, Supra, Z, all 10k+ more expensive. Are they ten thousand dollars more car than in 86? For my tastes I'm not so sure. Cayman is your next best bet, but is it worth twice the price starting? Again I'm not so sure. Not mention Porsche options make it a 70k+ car reeeal quick.

Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the twins are the best car out there IMO.
