I have never seen a TV commercial for the BRZ/FR-S/86. Has there ever been one? US only please. Thanks

Here in norcal i have seen one Toyota commercial where they showed a twin. They really haven't tried to sell them.

Really? Was it the gay uber one, or the equally pathetic big-entrance one?

Yep, there was the one with the guy bringing it home to show his wife. Also the "Epic" commercial, and a couple others. They haven't had in a few years now though. Just google FR-S commercial - none of them were particularly great.

Just search on youtube.

Never understood why it seems no marketing strategy. Toyota does not even really show em when they use advertisement showing a few of their cars. A lot of people have no idea what my 86 is.

Niether, it was just in the background.

Never seen one just for the 86, and never ever seen a brz in any Subaru comercial. There is basically no sales promotion for them ever here.

Countryist!

The Scion marketing scheme was mostly web based since the target demographic was known to not pay much attention to TV. I know of at least 12 different online ads. There were 33 or 4 just for the RS.2 alone.
There was a commercial that I saw twice on TV once on a Detroit station and once on an Atlanta one. Yes it is 2019 and we can see US stations up here in the wilds. I have never seen an 86 or BRZ commercial.
They are selling all the ones they make and are not interested in moving Corolla volumes of them so why spend several million dollars a year on advertising?

This. Scion targeted non car young people with web ads because we never watched tv and if we did it was through a streaming service. I don't remeber the FR-S being all over the place in those ads though, maybe on the background of a few youtube banners but that's it. People my age only really knew about the BR-Z/FRS if they were into cars.

Useless post....

To this day there are people that are still convinced that Scion was an entity of its own that called shots on design, engineering and in some way had an influence over the cars. The reality was that Scion consisted of 30 some odd marketing people that flogged the marque over the internet. No doubt many of their jobs consisted of roaming social media and forums linking the ads and promoting the brand whenever they could. Can you imagine just sitting in front of the computer all day waiting for the opportunity to sell the brand and ...
OH SHIT I MISSED MY CALLING!

Their whole goal would have been to attempt to get the ads to go viral but they were so lack luster and missed the target demographic but such a huge mark it never really worked. In the long run it was the downfall of Scion.

Kia did the same sort of thing with the Soul hamsters but with much greater success.

Which would be more likely to catch the attention of a 20 something with enough income to buy a new car?

Yeah, maybe it was regional because I saw then pretty regularly for the first couple years.

There was an Internet commercial for the FR-S featuring EDM Artist Steve Aoki.
