200+ WHP Completely Stock Vehicle, E85 and EcuTeK ProECU RaceROM Only (VIDEO)

Delicious Tuning breaks the 200 wheel horsepower on a completely stock Subaru BRZ (Scion FRS or Toyota 86), using only E85 fuel and EcuTeK ProECU RaceROM for custom tuning.

You heard correct a completely stock Subaru BRZ (Scion FRS, Toyota 86) with the following parts:

- stock headers
- stock front pipe
- stock over pipe
- stock exhaust
- stock intake
- stock engine
- stock transmission
- stock rims
- stock tires
- stock paper intake filter
- stock fuel rails
- stock fuel pump
- stock fuel injectors

Items used for breaking 200 wheel horsepower:
- EcuTeK ProECU
- E85 Fuel
- K&N Oil Filter
- Motul 8100 Oil

The car was run in 5th gear (closest to 1:1 drive ratios) on an AWD DynoJet Dyno. After only a few revisions to our original E85 tune (not 200+) we were able to dial on the 201 whp on an utterly stock vehicle.

* We also performance a 4th gear pull which netted us 197 wheel horsepower as seen in the dyno chart in the video.

Very nice! Keep up the good work guys!

Niiiice!!! Definitely impressive!

Gotta say though... That oil filter doesn't look stock

You caught me. You are correct I completely forgot to mention it does have a K&N oil filter and Motul 8100 oil. Which I am sure helps out a little bit.

Cheers.

Whoa. I had a feeling that people would figure out easier and easier ways to get more and cheaper power out of this car.

I wonder if you guys tried some bolt ons and if you could get some really sweet power numbers like 220whp?

Well one really cool mod on top of this E85 tune is an Airaid Cold Air Intake. We added it without removing the snorkel and picked up about 5 horsepower without changing the tune.

We then removed the cover as a test, similar to having no snorkel and picked up another 4 horsepower. So that should equate to about 210 whp without even touching the tune. Definitely like the fact I did not have to change anything with the Airaid Intake install. Just bolt on and go.

William Knose

Also, what was your baseline?, so we can know how much improvement there was. Thanks

s2d4 01-13-2014 04:10 AM

What about the torque curve? AFR?
Baseline overlay?
Tune for peak hp?
How many runs did you do?
Is it consistent?
Can you overlay all the runs you did?
Anything else added? I know you said stock, but adding a bung for wideband is still stock?for full close loop?

s2d4 01-13-2014 04:21 AM

O, is this the tune he is running? Or has it been dialed back for daily use?
Also, what kind of E85? 91+ethanol? 100+ ethanol?

i manage to get 192.5 whp with a performance exhaust and just some octane booster in the tank (added to 95 octane fuel), without touching the software...

swift996 01-13-2014 08:53 AM

Thanks for the honest disclosure of 5th gear.

I was under the impression that octane booster largely had such a minimal impact (around an increase of ~0.4 or less) that it was pointless and a complete waste of money. Also the additives in those things could potentially cause damage to O2 sensors or gaskets, not to mention the various environmental impacts of high MTBE content.
