JDM TRD Springs / Coilovers vs USA TRD Springs
Hi!
I tried searching in the forum but to no avail, apart from one or two forum members selling it in the classified. Anybody has the exact difference between the Black JDM TRD Springs aka Racing Springs as opposed to the Red TRD Springs aka Lowering Springs. Googling gave me results of the USA ones, it lowers by 15mm and can be used with the stock struts and shocks. The only page I can find about the JDM one is on the following link if you scroll down a little: http://trdparts.jp/english/86_perfor...uspension.html Reviews are hard to find. Same goes for the TRD Full Suspension Set, the first item displayed on the link above. I have the TRD Full Suspension Set and an extra set of TRD Springs. As I DD my car with no track time, evaluating the option of stock struts with JDM TRD Springs combo or replace the whole suspension with TRD Coilovers + Springs which I feel might be an overkill. :iono: |
I ran the US-spec TRD lowering springs for a little while with my car. With the 2017 shocks it is a great combo, especially for daily driving. I wouldn't hesitate to run these again if I was just driving the car around as a daily. US-spec TRD lowering springs are
3.6k front and 4.9k rear and lower the car 1". |

Thats the point. Those were the Red ones right?! Multiple users can vouch for those, but I have the JDM ones and cant find any reviews for those. |
What part number does your JDM spring have?

The part numbers for the springs is MS250-18001 and for the coils (shocks/struts) is MS260-18001. |
The rates of the grey springs (MS250-18001) are Front:34.7N/mm、Rear:57.3N/mm. They have been used together with the coilovers (MS260-18001) in all the years of the Gazoo 86/BRZ races. They are a good compromise for a mixed road and track usage using semi-slick tires in stock size (205/55R16).

So you have both coils and struts? Your springs need specific dampers...

Thanks for the info. I have the TRD SF2 Rims as well. 18 x 7.5. Haven't installed those either. I think the SF2 were paired with Pilot Super Sports (225/40R18). |
The USA trd springs are made by eibach correct?
