I found the one I wanted and it's in stock at a nearby dealership, now I just have to find someone to buy my Camaro or get a decent trade-in offer.

Yesterday I changed the oil and it is by far the easiest car I've ever done. |
Seems like everybody is saying that.. I cant wait to change the oil on mine.. Barely 200miles on it..
|
Why are people changing the oil already?

Drove it around twisty roads for 4 hours. Just broke 1000 miles. :)

Has to do with the possibility metal particles in oil during break in period, therefore it's recommended a quick oil change at 1000 mi., then back on normal schedule. |

Did my first oil change at 925 miles today. I couldn't wait any longer so I broke down and did it today. Then I took it out for a drive and explored the upper part of the tach for the first time.
:happyanim::happyanim::happyanim::happyanim: Edit: I was NOT expecting the oil to drain as fast as it did (never used 0W-20 before) and I ended up dropping the drain plug into the drain pan. The oil was hot so I had to use tongs to fish for it. Edit again: Yes, there were visible metal bits in there. Felt much smoother afterwards. |
Drove it 122mph today for the first time. (still made some weird rubber burning smell, it's at 3K miles, but I guess it's still breaking in)? :iono:

I picked up my FR-S just over a week ago. So far I have washed, clay barred, waxed, and detailed (I took delivery with the plastic still on the car). Removed the DRL resistor (module?), adjusted the clutch pedal, repaired 2 fuel lines that had been chewed on by a small rodent, and racked up about 1400 KMs ~ 850 miles.
Today? Removed the spare tire, jack, tow hook, etc from the trunk, and the hood blanket. Went for a 100 mile drive around the "island". |
Stared at it, drove it, tinting it tomorrow, and about to wash it. True Story.

|
i see that it looks like you got the shark fin antenna as well?

How did it feel at 122? stable or was it nervous? |
Ooh I'll have to update all of last week.
Thursday: Swapped out the michelins for Dunlop Star Specs 225/45/R17's on stock wheels. Much more grippy, but the rear end doesn't kick out as much :,(. Tire shop had a bit of a time getting the 225's on but I think 235's might have been doable, Saturday: Drove the piss out of it at an autocross in 103 degree heat. Star Specs are a vast improvement, but started to overheat in the extremely hot surface temps. Already have a little tread chunking on me :P Gave it a quick wash but need to find a time to give it a bit more TLC, lots of bugs from long roadtrip. Sunday: another autocross, slightly more reasonable 92 degree temperatures, no overheating on the Star Specs, still needs a driver mod though Debating whether to get the turn down pipe for race days. Also at some point I'll get around to window tint and debadge but maybe not this week. Another two autocross events this weekend! |
