This is the new Full Blown Motorsports Stage 1 Kit which includes:
- FBM Base EL Turbo manifold
- Garrett GT2871R
- FBM Aluminum Wrinkled Black intercooler Piping with couplers
- FBM 3" Downpipe
- FBM 550hp Intercooler with cast tanks
- FBM Intake Pipe
- FBM Dump tube
- Precision Turbo 39mm wastegate
- Tial 50mm Q BOV
- FBM 550cc injectors
- FBM 270LPH Pump
- FBM Dual slim fans
- All Hardware/oil lines and gaskets
- FBM 7psi Basemap (does not include license)

There is quite a bit involved with the installation of this kit including modifying the stock fuel pump assembly, installing injectors, removing the oil pan and welding an oil return fitting to the oil pan, running coolant and oil lines for the turbo, fabricating -10 line and fittings for the oil return, removing the front bumper assembly to run piping including modifying some of the plastic ducting behind it, but all in all, its going great!

Overall, we're very satisfied with the kit! The fitment is great, it takes time and patience to get it right. We also installed a catch can, vacuum manifold, and manual boost controller. The boost controller is there to keep the wastegate in check. It adds the ability for the customer to turn it up later on when he switches to E85 without changing wastegate springs. The vacuum block allows for the boost guage and a much more organized vacuum setup, the stock motor has so few vacuum sources. Once everything is together, it is a little crowded around the area under the turbo, but it is manageable, you don't have to disassemble everything to make adjustments. We're hoping to get some base map dyno numbers soon!

200 dollar difference and look at what you get, I am not sure how you could go with AVO. Lets not start that though. Kit looks great and I am excited to see the rest of this build.

I'm not bashing I just remember he put a deposit on the avo a while ago I don't even know the prices whatever.

It's not $200 difference, its $700. AVO adds $600 for ceramic coating. The original $3800 is a more accurate comparison since this one is not ceramic coated either. BUT I digress!!


(Even at $700 difference this is a great deal and I agree with you you get a lot of things, but let's be accurate :w00t:) I'm sorry, I'm a sucker for accurate information.


There are things that some people prefer about AVO like turbo location, UEL header,, internal Wastegate, OEM look, simplicity of the kit (no fuel upgrades, no oil pan weld).

I want to end it right here. Let's not start comparing kits here, its Pure Automotive's thread (feel free to delete my post, no hard feelings :thumbsup:)

No worries, just end it there, I have nothing bad to say about any of the other kits out there, I would love to try every single one of them!

TIL: That I am expected to weld the return fitting to the oil pan. I always figured that since an oil pan was included that there was no welding involved. Honestly, that always confused me as to why most of these kits show that very shallow oil pan as included when normally gravity return lines like to be returned above the level of the oil in the pan. I also don't understand why we should have to be fabricating our own oil lines. They built the kit, they know what length they need to be. Everytime I have assembled those lines it turns into a hassle.

Did it come with any instruction manuals?

The catch is, if you get the new stage 1 kit, which is more affordable, they supply the drain pipe and fitting but you have to drop your pan and drill a hole and line it up and weld it. The old stage 1 kit had a pretapped pan with it, the new one does not.

The reason they send the AN lines and fittings unassembled is to allow for different angles/lenths in case you don't weld the bung in the pan exactly perfect.

I have the majority of the instruction manual via email, its not fully complete just yet but they have been more than helpful with things I needed to see a picture of.

If you do not have a good amount of experience with turbo kits, AN lines, welding, fuel pump modifying, etc, I would not recommend "giving it a shot" unless you feel comfortable with it.

Well that is disappointing news. I knew that the original "Stage 1" came with an oil pan. I was never told that the oil pan was not included in the new "more affordable" kit. I was told the differences were the v band flanges, production parts instead of custom welded parts (cast endtanks), slightly cheaper turbo and wastegage, and no EcuTek license. It would been to nice to have been at least given an option to have it included.
