Installed Borla UEL Headers last Friday. Got CEL, then CEL disappeared.

I installed my headers last Friday and was very happy with the sound paired with my Invidia N1. Drove the car over the weekend and got no CEL but on Monday morning when I started it up the CEL was there as anticipated. Fast forward on Wednesday, I noticed the CEL was gone. I haven't gotten a tune yet due to Hurricane Harvey. Lots of people panic buying gas lead to gas stations not having gas. Anyways, I was wondering if the CEL popping up and disappearing was normal. As of writing this I still haven't had the CEL pop up again. Thanks

Yep, getting a CEL on an untuned 86 is normal. Might not happen on initial start up, but it will come. Might disappear, but it will eventually come back.

This might be little noobish question but i am eager to learn lol. When people say tune for a new headers, what do they mean exactly by it? are they going to play around with: Air fuel ratio, ignition timing, exhaust valve timing or go e85? also is borla uel headers catted or catless? does op have cat at all?

Tune for headers = flashing the ECU in order to work with the new header. Pretty much it's like telling the car "don't freak out, got some new gear, this is how we use its power". And OP's header isn't catted as Borla does not make catted headers. However, there are companies that do such as JDL, and FT86SF.

and is ECU flashing done by what device and which software?

Buy yourself a OFT tablet and it will open a whole new world of 'power' even on a stock car with no mods. And then there are mods you will discover here that will give you even more power and the car will be what it should have been from the factory.

And once you try the E85 OFT tune you will be addicted and never go back!

Just remember "With power comes responsibility.. don't drive stupid on the street"

See all the pretty coloured words below
Click on those links
Start with basic bolt on mods :-)

For tune devices or systems see here
