ORIGINAL POST

I removed my spoiler but the green pop clips didn't come along with it. I tried pushing in the sides but it's difficult because the other flap is inside of the trunk. This spoiler is different than the prior years.

Thoughts? First image is inside of the trunk opened, second is ontop of the trunk. Black oval is a decal I put to cover the hole.

You selling the 2017 spoilerr?

Gunman 05-10-2017 11:44 AM

Looks like you pinch the clip on the inside, and push it out of the car.

8RZ 05-10-2017 11:47 AM

Yeah try using a flathead to push in the tabs and remove the clip.

No, I'm disassembling the spoiler - Going to 3D print larger pylons so that the wing sits higher.

Ok I just tried that. Half of the clip seems like it's coming out but there's another tab on the underside of the green piece that I can't reach due to the trunk hole size and clip placement. Suggestions?

Can you twist the cap so the other tab faces you?

Unfortunately I can't. The clips are rectangular and require both flaps (or pins) to be pushed in to be removed.

I'll try using my pic tool and see if it'll get to the underside and fit.

Pic tool was going to be my suggestion.

Also, subscribed for pics of finished product. If it looks good, there could be a market for it :)

Will do! I'm also excited to make it and see what the finished higher spoiler looks like.

Will whatever you print be durable enough to be back there?

Yes. We're going to be using industrial 3D printers. This isn't a HomeKit 3D printer. There are many 3D printing processes and machines and materials. We'll test the parts thoroughly and build it for structural considerations. Given the amount of wind resistance that can be generated at high speeds, we'll be very thorough.

My cousin is a robotics engineer so we're going to make sure it's structurally sound, sturdy, durable and most importantly safe!

Gunman 05-10-2017 06:27 PM

Needle nose pliers won't fit up in there?
