I've been thinking about building a new computer desk but never considered going this far! I now have inspiration.

DadHawk Approved, DadHawk Want! :happy0180:

What I don't have in horsepower I make up in quantity. This is the primary "computer room" in our house, please pardon the mess, I'm in the process of "cleaning" I swear (from left to right):

  1. My primary computer (Dell XPS8300 with an ATI/ASUS 7870 Video card used 99.9% of the time by me for all tasks. Besides forum surfing, used for gaming, video editing, CAD, and general goofing off.
  2. Work provided laptop (Levnovo T420) connected via docking station and KVM to the middle monitor of my primary computer.
  3. (On the wooden cart, but can't see) ClearOS/Linux firewall and web server, separate 4G NAS, all networking switching for the house)
  4. Dell XPS 9200 used primarily by the musicians in the house for music and video editing and recording. Also used as a second station for gaming LAN parties on occasion.
  5. (right of printer) home-grown I7 system that has a direct lineage to the first computer I home-built in the mid 80's. Used for 3rd station LAN gaming, more music editing, homework and such by the Hawklings.
Let's not talk about what's in the rest of the house but last count I had a more than 25 IP leases on my DHCP server.

Wow that is AWESOME. What kind of material did you use for your desk to hold the tower? I'm worried it'll get too hot. D:

Edit: What kind of liquid cooling is that. o_O

It's 3/4 blonde plywood. I have fans on the side that pull air through where the motherboard is. Plus it's water cooled. My 3930 runs at around 50c at full load. And everything is all on one loop.

I'm one person and have 7 DHCP leases and 6 hosts with A records. Having 25 leases for a family shouldn't be that hard :D

Is the water cooling self built or was it bought?

I was in the process of building one but other things came to mind and tools were not handy.

(What my objectives in my desk tower was)
Heat, mobility (open and install parts), liquid cooling, Wiring (all directing in 1-2 tubes to the monitor and power outlets, air flow, easiness to clean and fan location.

I would like to say yours looks crazy neat! Was it just some random desk you bought and cut through or was it built from scratch?

SimCraft Motion Platforms! I consult for them in the areas of ergonomic development, software integration, physics development and marketing. These aren't in my house, but they are my babies!

It's not a self contained water cooling kit. It's a custom watercooling kit with an XSPC Raystorm CPU Block, XSPC RX360 Radiator, 2x GTX 480 waterblocks, and the EK Reservoir
