Why doesn't nissan bring the a110 to the US and just rebadge it as like a 240sx or 240z?

Seems like it would be pretty easy

Volume of sales not warrant certification costs?
Would not be the same car by the time the North American requirements were all added onto it?
Probably another dozen or so reasons I can't think of right now.
It isn't just a matter of slapping a different badge on it and bringing it over.

True, but I imagine it would be easier than engineering a brand new platform and would spark some interest in the dying company. All just conjecture at this point obviously.
