OFCR PLZ LS BRZ BUILD
 

Whats up everyone. I have decided after some debate to do a build thread for my 2013 subaru brz. Ill post some pics i can find Most all my pics will be coming from my I phone lol, so by no means will this be professional quality.



Ive always had a love for Raw Japanese Street style.Its always been Something so fascinating to me. Huge lipped wheels, slammed to the ground, loud cars. :party0030:Being huge into the 240sx scene and having owned over 10 of them. I laid eyes on the GT86 chassis and i was in love.



I decided It was time for a fresh build, Something New to me at least.



I managed to Buy the 1st one i saw in person.


So fast forward 2 years. I litteraly love this car and its the best decision ive made to date. Its had a couple different looks. Then i lost control......

SO of course like anyone would. Next open drift day. Still on the temp tags... Having a blast with this car.









So i think my first move was like some TEIN FLEX coilovers. Dropped it a decent amount on stock wheels just to close that wheel gap, and get some better handling.

SO basically I bought a set of black ESR (18x9 +35) 235-40-18's wheels and Test fitted some Leftover battles (18x9.5 +25) from my 240. I love how great these cars look crushed on battles. :0 Ill link one of my favorite 86 on battles.

So NOW We start to have fun.... Im gonna get to the LS action here soon SO lets fast forward some and start to get to the most recent phase of the car.

I end up buying my dream wheels SSR SP1 Professors. 18x9.5 +23 and flex on the stock body with 225-35-18s with a slight roll. They were in decent shape but i refinished the Lips and barrels and faces to make them presentable for now. :) This meaning im going to do a Authentic Greddy/Pandem Rocket bunny V2 kit. SO there getting relipped anyways :) thats coming up soon.

I end up Buying some interior goodies like Weathertech Mats. WEARELIKEWISE shift knob. WEARELIKEWISE E BRAKE button. AUTHENTIC NARDI 350mm Deep dish SUEDE wheel. NRG short hub, NRG Gen 2.5 Quick release. Really love this setup.

I also ended up buying a Airlift P3 kit for the Brz. I love it BTW. First time on airride and HATE MYSELF FOR HATING ON IT BEFORE. (STATIC COILS D BAG LOL)

At this point in time the Brz has been a blast to drive and i am having a great time with trackdays on weekends and modding this thing all the time. Its on E85 with full bolt ons, and ECU TEK TUNE. The nearest E85 at the time was 30 miles away from my house lol. SO the VP fuel Jugs were a huge help in transporting E85 everyweek. lol The things we do for 20 hp lol

SO.... My build vision was to always do the Pandem V2 kit. So i made it happen. I also Relipped My babies. Wheels are now HUGE 18x12 -39 R and 18x11 -29 F. Wrapped in 265-35-18 out back and 245-35-18 up front. Keep in mind this Build thread is Being made after the fact so im trying to remember all the small details. I have so many photos etc. If there is anything specfic anyone would like to see let me know!!!

Shoutout to PHIL @ VRWHEELS He got it all hooked up for me. Really stoked on how things are looking. Really Dope wheel setup just like Ive always Wanted. NEW 7'' and 6'' Lips for VR WHEELS. Valve stem caps from WEARELIKEWISE. Faces were soda blasted and Powdercoated 2 stage Prismic Powders ALIEN SILVER Tranclucent. They came out sooooooo good. I also CNC cut some Centercaps OUT OF T606 Aircraft grade aluminum stock. They came out so nice. Everything was also ceramic coated. So the finish is protected.

I ended up buying a new hood With the LS SWAP in mind... I wanted to keep it cool. AMS VENTED CARBON HOOD. Now that i started getting Carbon Fever i also ended up Getting New APR GT3 carbon mirrors.

Meanwhile... My buddy Phil with the WRX also Has a 1991 Nissan 240sx (Coupe) and were LS swapping it at the same time as we were doing the BRZ for the most part. SO it was Great motivation. heres a few pics of that.

AT this point I AM loving everything about the build. I cant wait to get it closer and closer to where i want it. This is all paying off . All the hard work, all the overtime, all the grinding. IM IN LOVE. Jimmie did his thing and killed it and exceeded all my expectations.

Summer is dying down to an end here in ohio. Were all wondering when its gonna start getting cold. Im trying to decide what i want to do next.. Im thinking maybe seats... But i decide to go brakes.... I know my Ls is coming soon so i do the big brake route....

ENDED UP GOING AND BUYING BRAND NEW SUBARU BRZ TS BREMBOS. I WORKED AT SUABRU AT THIS TIME AS A TECHNICIAN. SO I GOT A DECENT DEAL.. SNAGGED SOME HAWK HPS PADS FOR THE BREMBOS, AND SOME STOPTECH SS LINES FRONT AND REAR, ALSO GRABBED A DIODE DYNAMICS ALWAYS ON MODULE FOR THE FRONT BOOMERANGS AT NIGHT WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON :))))) I CAN STOP NOW AND THESE BRAKES FEEL AMAZING.

SO AT THIS POINT YOU'RE ALL CAUGHT UP. ITS WINTER IN OHIO... ITS SNOWING... I decided i needed MORE power.... So the 230-240whp E85 full bolt on BRZ just wasnt enough for me.... I Decide Its time... LS SWAP TIME... IM CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SWAP AND WILL BE POSTING UPDATES AS THEY COME!!!





SO I BASICALLY DECIDED TO BUY A LQ9 (6.0 variant of LS engine) Iron block.

I also knew i could not throw some stock LS truck engine in this car. If i was going to do it I was going to do it like i would anything else all or nothing.



So i buy Ls3 823 casting super low mile takeoff heads.

So 6.0 iron truck block LS with 823 LS3 Heads. A Real powerhouse of a Entry budget LS BUILD. I also live an Hour From SUMMIT RACING so ive been stockpiling LS parts for MONTHS knowing this was coming eventually.

I cleaned the engine TOP to BOTTOM. INSIDE AND OUT. CHECKED OVER EVERYTHING. COMP TESTED IT. LEAKDOWN TESTED IT. EVERYTHINGS GOOD! so We Go to the next Phase.... HERES THE ENGINE KINDA ASSEMBLED... DID SOME THINGS HERE AND THERE... PAINTED ENGINE BLOCK GLOSS BLACK WITH POR 15 ENGINE ENAMEL.
