Any tips or tricks on how to get your exhaust tips exactly where you want them?

I just installed a Ark Grip catback exhaust on my FRS and it hangs a little too far to the right. I had my friend hold it in place while I did the final torquing to it but it seems to just slide a little on the rubber hangers once all is said and done. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds to me like the bends where screwed from the get go. You could try bending it your self or taking it in to a muffler shop.

Not all cars are made the same, same with the exhaust. If it is off by a little bit, it is probably normal. Many people are very anal about tip alignment, they want it perfect, and if it is 5mm off they aren't happy.
You can try-
-messing around with the rubber hanger like using two of them so there is rubber stop holding it from moving any further as it would be bottomed out. Or getting new ones that are harder(?) or have more grip.
- bolting down one side of the flange, then holding it in place and then the other side. Similar to what your friend said.
-create a small angle on the flange with a belt sander, but make sure it is flat afterwards. be careful as a little goes a long way.
-exhaust shop
-look at pics of the same exhaust and realize that some are off by a little, and just live with it.

mine stuck out to far for my liking so i used some large hose clamps... rapped it around the rubber exhaust hanger and pulled mine back in

could try doing something like this

Just cut off the rear fake diffuser and it won't be noticed...plus you get to show off the exhaust and gain better high speed stability with an aftermarket split muffler setup:

Or go with a single center exit exhaust system...

Looks too naked for me without it, also do you not have a reverse light now?

First, invite a friend over.

Have a couple of beers.

Have your friend push it over with their foot to a little past straight ...... then you get under there and "wire" the whole muffler over a bit.

Yep, baling wire and duck tape will fix most everything .....:happyanim:

Finish off the 6-pack .......then it will be straight .........

As much as it sounds like Hum is joking that is exactly what I would do. It is off to the right the same on both sides so push and wire it would be. Nobody will see it hidden up there.

Did this with my N1 exhaust when I had it. Some metal pipe strapping and used an existing tapped hole. Can't see it unless you were under the car.

Could also use wire and a turnbuckle to get it lined up perfectly/adjustment, but I'm not that classy

Yeah cutting out the rear is personal preference - I cut mine because the offset exhaust actually melted the passenger side cutout so the fake diffusor was messed up. I really like it though as it slims the rear down. For reverse lighting what my FRS has is better than the weak stock setup, Diode Dynamics Tail-as-Turn module with XP-80 LED bulbs. Basically rear facing headlights...

Use a few of these on the exhaust's metal hangers, so that they can't side in or slide in further to the rubber hangers and then stay in place. Hard to describe but once you get under there with a few of these ready to go it makes sense.
