About to start interior work (Need advice)

So I've sat in a BRZ with carbon fiber interior and it was beautiful. $800 - $900 for all the pieces though is a little expensive.

Started thinking about other ways to make it look awesome. I thought why not paint all the silver pieces white. Like the car!

How exactly should I go about this? I know they make some good spray paint but there's something about it that just seems wrong. That's why I thought I would ask you guys. I want it to be very glossy and something that's not going to start peeling or bubbling when it gets hot..obviously

So I guess here are my questions:
  1. Are there white pieces I can buy?
  2. If I have to paint my current silver pieces, what should I use to do so?
  3. Would there be any downsides to painting it if I had to?

PS: This is my first post on the forums, glad to be a part of it now.

Is there a reason you want to paint over doing vinyl?

That being said, you can get black pieces, though I don't think white is an option. (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...43#post1890543)

I thought about vinyl but I don't exactly know who to take it to or if it would be more expensive.

I like those black pieces though...I wish they were gloss

$100. My guy painted a lot of stuff on my car so he gave me a deal.

I agree, I think it would look really good in a piano black.

It is totally DIY-able if you have the patience. All you need is some wrap, a blow dryer (heat gun is preferred) and some sharp knives.

I bought about $20 worth of 3M matte white vinyl wrap. Here is my interior so far:

Agreed with the vinyl, I had my silver pieces wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl and it looks sick. I'm not paying that much money for a few carbon fiber pieces

This looks really well done, I tried wrapping mine but I guess i'm not as experienced cause my corners sucks! Everything else is perfect but my corners especially the inner radio dash part is lifting and looking bad. Mostly after being in the sun/heat too long. I used a blowdryer and got it really hot on the corners to wrap around but I must be doing something wrong.

Have you considered hydrodipping?

It just took a shit load of patience. It was my first time doing it, time will tell how well it holds up since this was done just a few weeks ago.

Maybe try wrapping it again with fresh material but let the vinyl'd pieces sit in your house for a day before you put it back in your car out in the sun. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Oh man, all that white in the interior is like stepping into a time warp to the 90's.
