Uploaded gif stored as jpg.

As per title when I try to post a gif the gif file gets uploaded without issue but it gets stored as a jpg.
Any suggestions as to what is going on?

just wrap the gif link in [img] tags.

He means uploading to a different site like Imgur and then putting the link with .gif in between the IMG tags.

i just search for the applicable gif i want in google image search, and keep opening the image in a new tab until i get the web address ending in .gif

then i copy and pasta.

It might be do w the browser. Currently on my home PC and using Chrome, I cannot see the gif... but on my phone Safari, I can see the gif.

I have so many addons in Firefox and none in my Opera browser.
