Got Them OLM Yellow Convex Mirrors
 

I have only had my FR-S for a few weeks so maybe I just didn't give myself enough time to adjust to the new car, but I really was not digging the blind spot on the driver's side.

I ended up picking up the OLM convex mirrors to fix it. I picked yellow cause I thought they'd look good with the blue. Honestly you can't really tell walking by that they are yellow, unless you try and see it. Maybe if you were looking directly from the back you could see.

Anyway, I really like them so far. They've made getting on the highway a lot easier, and general lane changing and knowing what's around. I took some pictures in case anyone was wondering what they'd do for them.

First picture is the most accurate with regard to how the color looks in person.

This next picture is parked right next to the car to my left. I tried to take this picture from my line of site to give best idea of what's in the mirror from the driving position.

Finally, the last picture is after I pulled forward to the point where if I turned my head, I could not see the car even though it was practically right next to me.

I'm happy. I like the yellow, and although I haven't driven with them at night, I'm thinking they will make bright headlights a little easier to deal with. Either way I like 'em. Very easy install. Yank off old ones, slam new ones on.

Could have saved money and literally just moved the mirror.....

I prefer to see more. I did move them but they show so little. I just had a 97 blazer so I was used to giant mirror. This works for me.

Yeah I love wide angle mirrors. It’s like you say, you can see so much more.

This isn't a simple task when you're trying to view oncoming traffic from the lane you're merging into if your mirrors aren't adjusted for interstate driving.

I also am in the camp of " adjust before you need them" but practically it's better to have a view angle that doesn't require adjusting constantly.

How do these hold up after one year of using?

Not op, but no issues for 2 years now.

I've had them for a bit over a year. No issues.

I got the convex, wide-angle heated blue mirrors from Rexpeed & been using them for 3 years now (I wouldn't even be surprised if they came from the same factory. I've been driving for the last 25 years & majority of my driving experience was in SE Asia where distances between vehicles are measured in inches bec of how tight & heavy traffic is. There you learn to RELY HEAVILY on all of your mirrors bec. you don't have time to do shoulder-check & by doing so can actually lead to accidents as you're eliminating faster reaction time in very tight traffic.

Anyway, for those of us who have upgraded to the wide-angle mirrors can attest on how much rear visibility has improved as more blind spot is eliminated. 30% improvement is huge, that's the difference between recognizing the bike coming up to your side from several cars behind vs. right beside you as you turn to the corner. Aligning the OEM mirrors from end to end of the rear fenders are just adequate but having the convex wide angle ones aligned the same way lets you see wider to the rear where someone could be swerving from another lane esp. bikes.

Another thing I like about it is that the blue filter is a huge help in reducing glares from LED headlights esp. from taller vehicles like trucks. I used to adjust my head position to stay clear of the rear glare, now I don't have to. Moreover, everything, including the heater function, still works after 3 years of having them.

I have the yellow ones as well on my BRZ. Every time I drive my other car I miss those mirrors!

i loved the rexpeed one when i had my FRS... one of my fav mods... it's for sale if anyone is interested in them... in excellent condition

No issues with mine after about 2 years.
