Titanium Header from aussie company

came across this company by accident.
Do not know how well they tried out the design of this header, and if ther are really some power gains to get whit that.
but if the weight is all you're after I guess it might be somthing to look for, unless money is no problem that is :bellyroll:

That's about 1700 usd for a header. Are the power gains worth it? Is it reliable?

Carlitoz3 11-02-2014 09:14 AM

interesting looking header..

Calum 11-02-2014 09:36 AM

That product description is atrocious. And why would you pay that much money to have the same header design as about a dozen other companies that sell for much cheaper. Having a Ti header isn't worth that much.

It would be lighter and potentially longer lasting but titanium is a bad choice fro header applications, this area you want very smooth bends. If you never want to rust inconel would be the best choice and could be very thin because of the ability to stay strong even under high heat.

Isn't 2 AUD worth about 1 USD?

Weight savings.

Inconel isn't used a whole lot anymore for some reason, but it's probably just fine as the bends look well done.

You apparently don't know what titanium exhaust components look like... As a general rule, it's hard to bend the tubing so it's more effective to do bends in this way. They could grind/polish the welds and color change off to make it look "pretty" but it's pointless and would only make the header more expensive.

You could save the weight elsewhere. If you're just trying to make the car as fast as possible the performance gain a better header design would easily outweigh the small weight savings of this header. And most of the people spending that much money on a header are going to be competing in a class that likely has a minimum weight anyways.

Fixed

:D

Buy a cheaper header and save the money for FI.

GT86meMR2 11-08-2014 11:04 AM

Curious how it would perform and sound really not for people with a lower budget though ;)
