PROJECT MAKE BRZ NOT SLOW SLOW BUILD

5 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,

Here is my daily driven 2017 BRZ. I bought it with the performance package about a year ago. Lurked on this site thousands of times before deciding that I now want to document my journey, and share it with anyone who is interested in tagging along.

Here is a list of parts I have on the car so far (in the order I purchased):

- Perrin license plate mount
- Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs (1 inch drop)
- OEM TRD side skirts (K1X paint)
- OEM STI front lip
- OEM STI rear spats
- ARP extended studs
- Eibach 10mm hubcentric spacers (rear only)
- Corsa Exhaust
- Volk ZE40 F 18x9 +40 R 18X9.5 +43
- Tein Flex Z Coilover System (Lowered ~ 1.5 all around)

(As of 5/22/18 - PRETTY MUCH STOCK)

Here is a list of parts I have just ordered, but haven't installed:

- (NONE ATM)

Future Mods/Wishlist

- Jackson Racing c38 Super Charger
- SARD wing
- ACE 350 headers
- Corsa Exhaust (Purchased & Installed)
- Volk ZE40 in 18's (Purchased)

Sold Parts

- TRD Exhaust
- ZE40 17x8.5 +44

Stay Tuned!

Install Day/Car Wash Day

- Installed TRD side skirts, STI front lip, STI rear spats

The BRZ looks a lot more aggressive with these added parts. At first I was iffy about running a mash of TRD and STI parts, but I am very happy with the way it turned out

Extended Studs and Eibach 10mm Spacer Install Day

- Installed ARP extended studs, and 10mm spacers

Installation for the extended studs weren't too difficult. The most difficult part was getting the hubs out, but punching in the new studs were very easy. Used a 1/2 inch nut and washers to get it out. The added 10mm to rear looks great. Not too noticeable, but definitely makes the rear wheels more flush. I don't know if this is a placebo, but my car like it handles that much more better. All in all, it was a worthy install!

Corsa Exhaust Install Day

- Installed Corsa catback exhaust

Installation was very very frustrating. This was the first time I ever installed an exhaust that used flanges and C - clamps. The flange piping made it absurdly difficult to align the exhaust, and have everything flow perfectly. The entire muffler was crooked at a point, so the ability to move the tips didn't help either. If anyone purchases a Corsa exhaust, my advice is to look very carefully at the exhaust hangers are all angled the same, from the muffler to midpipe. Also, I recommend not re-using the spring bolts to connect the midpipe to the front pipe, as it will create a nasty rattle, and an exhaust leak. At the end of the day, the exhaust was super worth it. I had people ask me if my car was a V8 LOL. It really sounds like a miniature V8, and sounds very unique compared to other exhaust systems out there for the twin. The no drone took some time to get used to, as the car sounded a lot more quiet in the cabin. 10/10 would recommend.

Tein Flex Z and 18in ZE40 Install Day

- Installed Flex Z coilovers and 18 inch ZE40's

Pros: Car handles so freaking well, its unreal. At first I was a little skeptical on Flex Z's, but ride better than stock shock/strut combo due to linear springs. They're surprisingly bouncy at lower speeds at the lowest damper setting. Lowered approx 1.5 inches all around, just waiting for the springs to settle before making any more adjustments. Overall superbly happy with the new suspension/wheel setup.

Cons: Car definitely feels heavier due to all the rubber on the four corners. Rears feel like they're dragging more under acceleration, but once you get going, speeds feel like its being retained better. There is definitely louder road noise, and sometimes it can get pretty annoying.

Can't wait to see it with the lip kit on! Looks great so far. I am running a full STI kit and was also thinking of going full TRD or a hybrid like you are.

Thanks man! I just installed the kit a couple hours ago (see updated post above), and the hybrid look flows very well.

Hahaha, I heard... literally. Really on the rails on if I want to go headers, or FI. I guess my exhaust setup will vary depending on my choice.

Had my corsa for a while and I'm kinda tired of it now. Probably will switch to a perrin 2.5 and a gruppe-s

Perrin matched with a header sounds great as well.

I actually just picked up some STI rear spats and wanted to run TRD sideskirts as well. Have you thought about painting the spats partially to match the skirts?

Nice. But nope I have not thought about painting it, cause I like the contrast. I have thought of buying the spats without the top portion though. Should be easier and a more practical solution than painting.

I bought it from blackhawkjapan.com It was relatively cheap for OEM compared to other stores, plus one of the few vendors that had K1X paint.
