I'm getting tired of waiting...LOL

You're not alone. I see many impatient buyers jump ship to brz because orders have been open for a while

I just glad I don’t need a new vehicle of any kind right now, Be VERY patient for the one optioned as you want and save up for the unavailability tax…

“Subaru’s main automobile plant and Yajima plant in Gunma, Japan, and its Oizumi engine and transmission plant will shut down September 7-10, 2021. The four-day loss of production will further slow the number of new cars available for U.S. customers. Subaru also makes the WRX, WRX STI, and BRZ sports cars at the plant in Gunma”

I never understood why people HAVE to get the new thing now. Lol but I’m happy because we need early adopters

I'm eager, too, as I really want to drive one. But I plan to hold out for another 2 years for various reasons.

I bet I'm not the only one who moved to the 'burbs recently and doesn't own a car to do the new commute in...

Hard to tell someone underwater to just be patient because the air is coming ;)

You’re definitely in a minority. Lol.

Subaru's Pipeline shows the new BRZ's arriving in November.

Could you confirm the year ?

Kidding aside, I know what it's like to be waiting for a car before there is a firm arrival date,
Had scrapped a 1981 Prelude back in the day and had a 1983 new gen on order and no car for 3 months.
Never regretted the wait for that one and really enjoyed it.
Pestered the dealer weekly for updates and in the final weeks before delivery he was the one calling me with updates...

I'm sort of chomping at the bit. I just barely bought my 2020 in April. It has 6k on it. Looking at Autotrader and elsewhere, used 2020s are going for up to $30k in base model. It's crazy. I spent about $27,300 on mine, so I could potentially recoup all of it and dump directly into a 2022 if timing and the stars align. I have a Jeep Wrangler I could likely get $9-10k out of, so I could maybe scrape enough together for the Premium.

Trading up has already been discussed ad nauseum, but for me the GR86 would be the car I would want my 2020 to be without having to do warranty-voiding mods.

Well plan on paying more and losing more on depreciation, when you buy in a bubble because of the various supply issues and increase in demand. It’s a sellers market and worst time to buy. But if the need is there I get it.

Oh believe me, I’ve HEARD :sigh:

I never buy new cars but I gave up on the used market MONTHS ago because I refuse to partake in that insanity. I’ve run out of the wife’s good graces (and then some) borrowing her car to go to work every day though, so these ‘22s can’t come fast enough!

Even though I'm not planning on a new ride until the spring of 2022, I just want to see, touch and test drive the GR86 so I'll confirm that it will be my next ride. If I like, all's good. If not, then I need to go to plan B.

With the latest news, not hopeful that I'll see a GR86 anytime soon:
