Dave-ROR 11-02-2011 12:58 PM

great info!

Damnit Toyota just release the damn brochures and pricing already! :)

Spaceywilly 11-02-2011 01:00 PM

86x86!!!! Awesome

That is a funky torque curve... looks like it has decent low range torque though, then there is a big bump when full DI kicks in. Thanks again Hachi!

ydooby 11-02-2011 01:01 PM

Fold-down rear seats!! Some consolation for not having a hatchback I guess.

Dark 11-02-2011 01:02 PM

:bow::bow:Thanks Hachi.

Daily leak. What a month? :D

Dave-ROR 11-02-2011 01:03 PM

Is that 12.5 compression ratio? if so.. holy hell..

Aki 11-02-2011 01:03 PM

Love the square bore and stroke.

Cute how it shows that you can stow 4 wheels/tires in the back =)

FBS 11-02-2011 01:04 PM

can't wait for the translation

I like the bit with the folding rear seat and the four tires in the back

C4RBON 11-02-2011 01:05 PM

Confirmed: 4 tires fit in the back. Yes!

ydooby 11-02-2011 01:06 PM

So they lied to us. The LFA and the 360 still have lower CoG than the FT-86! Grrr...

At least it's MUCH lower than the WRX STi.

And two golf bags too (I think). :w00t:

NumbersGuy 11-02-2011 01:09 PM

Great! Hopefully, this has the interior dimensions listed.

KevinDuMa 11-02-2011 01:09 PM

I doubt anyone would wanna ride in my backseat once I get this thing lol Does the center console go all the way to the back like an Rx-8?

That's the centerline of the crank it looks like. Mathmatically that's 18.11", not the 17.8" previously stated so either the 17.8 is wrong or the 460mm isn't CoG. 18.11" is more than my Integra so I doubt that's accurate... I hope not.

Also they never said the lowest, they said one of the lowest. GT3's are lower too.

Do Boy 11-02-2011 01:12 PM

The more I see the more I want!!!

R_E_L 11-02-2011 01:13 PM

looks like it. now i understand why they say it was built with a convertible in mind. must have a very rigid "spine" like the S2000.

I agree with Dave. I think that is the center of the crank they are showing there. The engine in the LFA has a dry sump so they can seat it lower in the car. The CoG for this car could still be below the centerline for the crank. Especially when you look at the seating layout, and the rear suspension diagram. They really stuffed things down low.

tranzformer 11-02-2011 01:21 PM

Awesome. BRZ!

Matador 11-02-2011 01:22 PM

Christmas, in November.

Geard 11-02-2011 01:23 PM

Rear seats don't look to bad, all this
New infos blowing my mind:respekt:

Also they never said the lowest, they said one of the lowest. GT3's are lower too.

Somehow I remember they said it's the lowest "of any production car".

Anyway I'm 100% sure it says CoG and not the centerline of the crank in the brochure. Try Google-translating "center of gravity" to Japanese and you'll see that it's "重力の中心" or "重心", exactly the wording in the brochure.

SUB-FT86 11-02-2011 01:25 PM

When you sit in car like this and the weight dist is 53/47, depending on the weight of the person you can cause some rearward bias to make it closer to 52/48 or 51/49? Also putting the battery in the trunk helps too.

skinsfn36 11-02-2011 01:25 PM

Cant wait to see the translation!

12.5 CR would be nuts

That would destroy the trunk space.

Some things I saw from the pics:

-460mm from ground to the center of the crank (low CG)
-53:47 F/R weight split
-Cd (coefficient of drag) of 0.27 (this is really good)
-D-4S tech (direct injection pairs with secondary EFI)
-1,998cc Displacement
-200 HP
-151.2 ft-lbs torque
-12.5:1 Compression ratio (I guessing on this one, and I really hope I'm wrong)
-86mmx86mm bore/stroke
-Mcpherson suspension front/ Double A-arm rear
-Rear seats fold (as one unit)
-Cup holders can slide
-Can carry 4 tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Awsome trunk hinges (no goose neck as mentioned above)

-The rest is up to you Hachi :)

Wonder why this is in english? :iono:

There's also a small section in english in the second photo about D4S 4 stroke gasoline. Everything else in japanese...can anyone edumacate me on the reason why? Just seems odd...

No direct translation I'd guess.

FBS 11-02-2011 01:30 PM

Took another look...

I'd love to know what that graph on the 3rd page is all about

Could be, that would be against what they've publically stated (since they said 17.8" specifically).

Once it's translated we will know :)

skinsfn36 11-02-2011 01:32 PM

12.5:1 will make boosting safely on the stock internals very difficult, probably why we don't have a TRD FI option yet

RiskyTrousers 11-02-2011 01:32 PM

With a square bore and stroke at half a liter per cylinder, wouldn't we be able to spin the living HELL out of this puppy!

Can you imagine how this will sound at 8.5K!

Slide 11-02-2011 01:33 PM

Damn amazing info!

Can't wait to read what it al says
